Crisis Center Mission
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay brings help, hope and healing to people facing serious life challenges or trauma resulting from sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts, emotional or situational problems.

Miracle Workers

When 7 year old Josh stopped wetting the bed after years of sexual abuse by a relative and 4 weeks of therapy at the Corbett Trauma Center, his mom told me that for the first time in a long while, she knew what it meant to be hopeful.  And a few weeks later when the nightmares stopped and his teachers commented about how much better he was doing at school, his mom asked me, "Is this for real?"  But it was two days after Josh climbed into her lap on an ordinary Saturday afternoon in mid-July and said, "I love you!" that his mom told me, "You folks at the Crisis Center are miracle workers."...(CONTINUE)

It takes the support of thousands of people to implement the mission of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Periodically someone makes an extraordinary effort to show their commitment to the Crisis Center's work. Such is the case with Cornelia & Dick Corbett.

Cornelia & Dick have truly embraced the mission of the Crisis Center. Their passion to help children and families in our community is evidenced by their support of the Crisis Center and many additional non-profit organizations in our community.

On Monday, November 4th, Dick & Cornelia Corbett were honored in a dedication ceremony at the Brandon location of the renamed Corbett Trauma Center...

Nicole & Ashley: Help, Hope & Healing...1 Year Later

Many Crisis Center supporters are already familiar with Nicole & Ashley's story. This resilient mother & daughter shared their story in the 2013 video that was shown at the Cup of Compassion breakfast. The video is featured on the Crisis Center's website and You Tube Channel (Click HERE to view).

Nicole was experiencing the normal joys and struggles of having a blended family with 6 kids. One day she was putting together a meal for her family in the kitchen when her teenage daughter Ashley came to her and whispered that she and her sister were being molested by her step-brother

Joyce Turns to Corbett Trauma Center to Find Healing


For most of her life Joyce felt there must be something wrong with her - she was "unlovable and lacking as a human being". Why else would others hurt her over and over?  She had experienced horrific abuse as a child and was neglected by her mother. She had struggled with substance abuse over the years and was currently having thoughts of suicide and.

A TransCare Dispatcher Utilizes Verizon Technology to Communicate with Emergency Vehicles
Representatives from the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay sat in anticipation at the Verizon Wireless Technology Innovation Awards luncheon held at the A La Carte event pavilion on November 5th and gladly accepted the award when the Crisis Center's name was called as a 2013 winner!

The 2013 Verizon Wireless Technology Innovation Awards recognizes the most innovative implementations of Verizon Wireless technology in small and medium sized organizations

Black Friday & Cyber-Monday have become unofficial holidays across the country with millions of people spending billions of dollars in the search for retail bargains.

In recent years, a new unofficial holiday event has emerged called "Giving Tuesday" where people like you commit to contributing to their favorite non-profit organizations.

4th Annual Voices of Strength: A Night of Expression

Carrollwood Cultural Center 


Voices of Strength:Night of Expression is an annual event presented by the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay in collaboration with the Sexual Violence Task Force and hosted by the Carrollwood Cultural Center, dedicated to empowering survivors through a creative lens. At Voices of Strength, survivors have the opportunity to express themselves through poetry, art, music, dance, comedy, and writings about the journey of recovery from sexual violence and the transformation into empowerment.
