Thornhill Campus Bulletin
June 2010
9100 Bathurst Campus
Greetings!

"...The frozen misery Of centuries breaks, cracks, begins to move;
The thunder is the thunder of the floes..."

 - From "The Sleep of Prisoners" by Christopher Fry. (See bottom of email for the full speech)

Rather than letting yourself get depressed by current events in the world, take courage and remember: there always needs to be a little chaos before good, new things can happen.

Speaking of good new things, we will be doing some serious planning over the summer, so call me if you'd like to share ideas or get involved.

Sincerely,

Mark

HESPERUS VILLAGE -
FOUNDATION STONE CEREMONY

HFC2A

On Saturday, June 26, 2010, a meeting will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am, in which a Foundation Stone will be laid in the ground of the new Hesperus Village site.

All who feel called to help create a midsummer mood in which we will make offerings and seek the support of the Spiritual and Elemental Kingdoms to help us nurture the unfolding of the human dimension in all who come to us are welcome.

With music, word, Eurythmy and fellowship, we will try to set the tone and intention of the future social, spiritual and cultural life of this community. We hope strength will be drawn from this event to meet the many challenges ahead on the path to realizing the goals and responsibilities this community has set itself.

Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.  Hesperus website.

From SLEEP OF PRISONERS
Dark and cold we may be, but this
Is no winter now. The frozen misery
Of centuries breaks, cracks, begins to move;
The thunder is the thunder of the floes,
The thaw, the flood, the upstart Spring.
Thank God our time is now when wrong
Comes up to face us everywhere,
Never to leave us till we take
The longest stride of soul we ever took.
Affairs are now soul size.
The enterprise
Is exploration into God.
Where are you making for? It takes
So many thousand years to wake,
But will you wake for pity's sake!

- Christopher Fry
