Anthroposophical Society
Thornhill Campus Bulletin
April 2010 |
|

In the "School of Athens" (above), Rafael captures the spirit of Greek philosophy and discourse. In that time, philosophy was considered to be very important - it was the foundation of civilization and human progress. But where are we now? No-one takes philosophy seriously anymore, and quite different forces are at work in the minds of our leaders. As long as I have money (or at least a credit card) in my pocket, what else matters?
Lots, actually. Please visit frequently and join the conversation. Our culture is our future.

SPIRITUAL PRACTICES For Parents and Teachers |
|
With Warren Lee Cohen, Director of Waldorf Teacher Education at the Rudolf Steiner Centre.
In this experiential week we will discuss and practice methods of spiritual deepening that can support parents and teachers in meeting daily challenges and developing their own meditative practices. We will begin by building a gateway of gratitude and then do a series of seven soul-harmonizing exercises developed by Rudolf Steiner. We will practice meditation from various traditions, including in nature, and reflect upon the potential and challenges they offer.
We will dedicate the second half of our morning to modeling in clay as a means of entering with our senses into the quiet language of form. All materials will be provided.
Monday to Friday May 3 to 7 2010, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Fee $250 and $175 concession. Details. |
