Dear Notre Dame Families:

It's great to have all the children back at school.  Enrollment is up for the third straight year!! Yea! Students and teachers already are settling into a routine.  We have kicked off the "new" hot lunch program with more healthy food choices for your children.  In future letters I will provide additional information on new academic initiatives, and investments we have and are making in our school. 

We held a moment of silence this morning at the middle school to reflect on the life of Katie Wagner.  Katie died yesterday in a tragic car accident.  Katie is the mom of Nick and Ben Wagner, recent graduates of Notre Dame of De Pere.  Please keep the Wagner family in your prayers during this difficult time.    

REMINDER: Notre Dame is using a new recess and lunch volunteer process this school year. The new process requires participation from all Notre Dame families except the two-day preschool families, so please make sure to read the attached document and click on the Sign Up Genius link below. Together we will ensure that our students have a fun, safe, and nourishing environment for lunch and recess at Notre Dame of De Pere!  All recess volunteers are required to complete a background check and Virtus training if volunteering for more than four hours.  The background check is a 15 minute questionnaire that can be completed on-line.  Contact Jenny at the elementary school to get instructions (337-1103).

GRACE has adopted a Technology User Agreement that is different than the one previously used by Notre Dame.  The Technology User Agreements will be coming home with the students on Thursday.  Please sign and return a user agreement for each child in grades K-8.  In addition to computer use and internet use, the agreement addresses the use of wireless/personal devices. We plan to increase the use of these devices this year so it is very important that we have an up-to-date user agreement on file.  Thank you.  A copy is also available on our website in the Communications tab.

Dear Parents,

I would like to thank you for all your support of the Market Day program! Due to lack of volunteers , interest in the program and a general streamlining of our fundraising programs, the fundraising committee has decided to discontinue the program.  Market Day recently, in error, sent order forms to customers who had ordered in the past. This was done prior to us being able to make the announcement.  I apologize for any confusion it may have caused.  If you still wish to order Market Day you can visit the Market Day site at www.marketday.com, enter your zip code and they will provide a list of schools that are close to where you live so that you can continue to order.  Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who assisted us over the past couple of years.   Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at lonepine4@tds.net
