Dear Notre Dame Families:

We celebrated All Saints Day with a special Tuesday Mass. The second graders did a wonderful job preparing the Mass.  I hope many of you were able to see the creative costumes that were worn and had a chance to learn about the students' favorite Saints.

It has come to my attention that some of you miss the "brown envelope" with the paper flyers for upcoming events.  Just a reminder, if you prefer the hard copy we can send one home with your child.  There is a nominal fee for this service of $25.

Key club, our largest fundraiser, is just around the corner (November 4th).  Last weekend, Key Club premiered the first ever on-line auction.   Check it out:  Notre Dame/Our Lady of Lourdes Online Auction

If you would like to volunteer, donate, or buy tickets, click here.  To learn more about key club click here: Key Club.  This is really an exciting event!!! WOW!!

Many parents have asked about magazine renewal and credit for our school. We are excited to announce that renewing your magazines can STILL benefit Notre Dame of DePere!  To order and/or re-order click here:  Order Magazines

Market Day Dessert Bonus Days Deadline is Monday, Nov. 7.  Order forms went home with your child last week, but you can also order online through our link on the school website.  If each family sells or buys only 2 desserts, our Market Day profit would be 45% which would mean we would raise $3000 toward our school Third Source fundraising goal!!  If you would like to donate a dessert or 2 to St. John's Homeless shelter, we will collect them on Market Day delivery day and take care of delivering them to the shelter for you.  Thank you so much for your support!!!!! Click on Market Day to find out more.

Seven weeks to Christmas!! The Home and School Seroogy's sale has begun.  Seroogy's chocolates and coffee make ideal gifts!!! Flyers and order forms are available in both the middle school and elementary school offices. Click here to find out more: Seroogy's

Remember that school is dismissed at 2:55 p.m. at both schools.  If you pick your child up, please arrange to be at the school no later than 3:10 p.m.  There is no supervision scheduled for them after that time.  Please be advised that at 3:10 children who remain at either school will be brought to the After  school Program at the Elementary School.  You will then be charged the drop-in rate.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful Fall colors.

In Spirit,

Jeff

21st Annual Notre Dame/Our Lady of Lourdes Key Club

Friday, November 4th at the Swan Club in De Pere

November 2, 2011

Notre Dame and Our Lady of Lourdes School Families,

We are just a few days away from the 21th Annual Key Club Event. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you, your family, and your friends to attend this year's event.

A committee of more than 50 dedicated people has been working behind the scenes since January to bring together our school's largest fund raising event. The driving force behind "Key Club" is the commitment to Catholic education of our children at Notre Dame and Our Lady of Lourdes Schools.

We are proud to be associated with the Key Club and its long tradition of providing financial support to the De Pere Catholic Schools. We are fortunate to have the continuous support from all of our parish and school families. Your contributions towards this event have ensured its continued success.

We look forward to having you join us at the Swan Club for an evening of fun and fundraising.

  Delicious, convenient food

that raises money for our school!

Market Day Dessert Bonus Days will be this November.  The more desserts that are bought and/or sold, the higher our profit!!  The desserts are delicious and great to have in your freezer to pull out for a quick dessert, especially with the holidays quickly approaching!  Our goal is to sell 500 desserts which will give us 45% profit for our school.  If each family buys or sells 2 desserts we will hit our goal!  As with last year, if you don't need any desserts, consider purchasing a couple of desserts and we will deliver them to St. John's Homeless Shelter.  Look for information regarding this fundraiser in your child's bag on Friday.  Deadline for orders is Nov. 7 and pick-up will be Nov. 10th.

Adults Discussion: Location to be determined later, based on number of participants.  Book: Catholicism- A Journey To The Heart of the Faith by Fr. Robert Barron. The hardcover book is available from Amazon for $15.98 and also available as an EBook. Read more about the book and the DVD series on Fr. Barron's website www.wordonfire.org.

"Father Barron delights in the ways our faith puts flesh on the word. He tells us stories. He brings out the art, architecture, pho- tos, and human faces. He shows on every page that those who call Ca- tholicism a 'system' are mistaken. It's a living Body. Fr. Barron wants the world to share his delight in that fact. Accessible to students yet stim- ulating for scholars, this book shows forth the unique civilization-forming potential of the Catholic faith and the Church's living tradition in everyage, including ours." -Scott Hahn

"When classics professor Reed Stubblefield is disabled in a school shooting, he retreats to a rural Illinois cabin to recover and write a book on Aristotle. Oddly, in the chill of early March, the campgrounds and motels of tiny River Falls are filled with the ill and infirm -- all seeking the healing touch of the town's new parish priest, reputed to be a stigmatic, who bears on his hands and feet the wounds of Christ."
