HUD's Latest National Newsletter Spotlights Atlanta Market
Each month, HUD's national office releases a monthly newsletter on the health of the Nation's housing market. The November 2011 scorecard features a special spotlight on the Atlanta MSA and includes a description of the Piece by Piece Initiative. Read the Spotlight on Atlanta.
Wells Fargo Housing Foundation and Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity Celebrate Partnership to Revitalize Clayton County's Iron Gate Neighborhood
PBP partners Wells Fargo and Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity announced the successful completion of their innovative partnership to revitalize 70 homes in the Iron Gate neighborhood, a Clayton County community that has been hit hard by the foreclosure crisis. In addition, Wells Fargo Housing Foundation recently announced a second grant of $170,000 (following its initial grant of $175,000 in 2010) to Southern Crescent to continue the partnership and expand its reach into other foreclosure-impacted neighborhoods in Clayton and Henry Counties. The award to Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity is the largest grant made by the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation on the East Coast this year. News coverage: Clayton Daily News | Fox5Atlanta

Cleveland Housing Court: "Beacon" for Others in Fight for Code Compliance
The latest issue of Shelterforce Magazine features Cleveland's innovative Housing Court where Judge Raymond Pianka hands down decisions to ease post-eviction transition and achieve housing code compliance. Is it enough to stabilize neighborhoods? No....but, as Shelterforce reports "the Cleveland Housing Court is a beacon to others fighting for stable neighborhoods, and all those who believe that protecting people and property and the rule of local law do matter."
