July was a lot of fun here at the Methodist Home, with a 4th of July celebration and our monthly visit from AHCA -- this time for a Hawaiian-themed afternoon, complete with a limbo contest, coconut treats and Hawaiian dance performance!
Coming up this month we are looking forward to welcoming back Bob Jenner for a lecture on "The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt," not to mention clowning around with AHCA when they join us on August 13th for a day of carnival and clown activities.

98 & Partially Blind, Hal Lasko Paints in Pixels

Hal Lasko has been getting some national attention recently for his artwork, created entirely on his computer using Microsoft Paint. What is particularly incredible about the artwork Lasko creates is that he has wet macular degeneration, which has rendered him legally blind. Anyone who argues that the golden years are anything but golden should take a look at the story of Hal Lasko, age 98.
