The Methodist Home of DC
A letter from the CEO of the Methodist Home

Dear friends and family of the Methodist Home,

May was a wonderful month for us here at the Methodist Home. We had a lot of different visitors, including 5th graders from the Maret School, AHCA's friendly faces, plus a Mariachi band for Cinco de Mayo! We sang, we played games....we had a blast. In this month's newsletter you will find photos from these events, as well as some information about upcoming events.

To see a complete listing of events and activities coming up this month, visit our "Events" page or download the June Activities Calendar here.

Also, don't miss out on our biggest event of the year: coming up next week (Monday, June 10th) is the 21st Annual Methodist Home of DC Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet. See below (or click here) for your official invitation, and please join us for this exciting event!

Our monthly Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group meets this month on Thursday, June 6th and Saturday, June 15th. Please see "Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group" at right below for more information.

As always, if you or someone you know is interested in taking a tour of our community, please contact Diane Heyde at (202) 966-7623.

All my best,

Sandy Douglass, CEO

"Music knows no boundaries. It can transport you - taking you back to your youth or helping you recreate a special memory. It can also foster strong connections, bringing together strangers and creating friends."

Guide to Retirement Living published a beautiful tribute about Dominic Chianese and William Shave in their recent article "A Harmonious Duo."

Maret School End-of-the-Year Farewell

maretschool_farewell
5th grade class of students from the Maret School has been visiting our residents at the Methodist home once a month all year. Together the students and our residents have participated in science demonstrations, iPad learning games, ice cream making, and more!

May 22nd was their final visit for the year and the band and chorus performed to say farewell. Thank you Maret School for a year of memorable visits!
