And the Winner Week #5 Is....
 Congratulations to Bob and Raquel Mullaney of Plymouth, MA for winning the call of the week! Staff member, Melody, did a fantastic job on the call. She was engaging and empathetic, and did an excellent job in making the caller feel at ease about her decision to reach out to Comfort Keepers ®. Melody asked the right questions and was able to get some great information from the caller.

GUARDIAN MEDICAL MONITORING AND HIPAA COMPLIANT NOTIFICATIONS
|
 Changes Due to HIPAA
Because of the recent changes in HIPAA regulations, Guardian has announced they will be discontinuing emailed reports of PERS alarms. Instead, Guardian will convert these reports to a fax version, and begin sending all reports in this manner as of Monday, October 28th. In turn, all offices should fax the client's monitoring agreement directly to Guardian at (877) 205-3621. Client information should NOT be emailed to Guardian.
Guardian is pursuing other options for receiving client alert messages, such as sending you a link, via email, to a secure website to access the report, as well as having a direct link to reports (password protected) on the SafetyChoice® tab of the Members page. Stay tuned for future updates!

 What better time to improve the look and functionality of CK Brand than with the introduction of the newly designed collateral materials. For the past several months, we have been working on a redesign of CK Brand that reflects the new colors, fonts, and imagery, but as importantly, brings greater organization, functionality, and a better user experience for all of you! We are in the testing stage and will be using the input from a group of franchisee testers to make final tweaks and identify any issues so when we launch, we are launching with a well-functioning product. It is that time of year again when Comfort Keepers® franchisees will elect their incoming NAC. This year, you will elect the 9th National Advisory Council (NAC). If you wonder who these people are, they are franchisees, just like you, who make the commitment to work with CKFI to help guide the growth of the Comfort Keepers® franchise network. Is it time to ask yourself - is this the year I declare my candidacy for a position on the NAC?
If the answer is "yes" and you are considering throwing your hat in the ring, you might start the process by speaking with some of the current, or former, NAC representatives to understand their experiences on the NAC. The contact information for the current NAC representatives is posted on the Members site at Member > NAC > Members Bios.
We are calling all leaders to do what they can to grow the Comfort Keepers network to that #1 position.

NAC NOMINATION PROCESS AND ELECTION TIMELINE

Take the Step - Submit Your Candidacy to be a NAC Representative
 This fall, franchisees will elect five (5) of their peers to be NAC representatives for 2014 - 2016. The process is the same as in previous years. If you are ready to take the step and declare your candidacy for the NAC, follow these simple steps:
- October 14 - November 2, 2013: Nominations are submitted to CKFI. Click below to access all nomination process and forms, NAC Bylaws, and the NAC Code of Conduct.
- November 8, 2013 - Nominations announced in Friday Flash along with day/times for Meet the Candidates calls.
- November 18 - December 1, 2013 - Franchisees cast their ballots, one per owned territory.
- December 6, 2013 - New NAC representatives are announced.
Ballots will be cast electronically and the details are forthcoming.
