Pressure Sensors
MS5805 Miniature Variometer
MS5805 Variometer The MS5805-02BA is a new generation of high resolution altimeter sensors from MEAS Switzerland (formerly Intersema) with I2C bus interface. It is optimized for altimeters and variometers with an altitude resolution of 20 cm. The sensor module includes a high-linearity pressure sensor and an ultra low power 24 bit ADC with internal factory-calibrated coefficients. It provides a precise digital 24 Bit pressure and temperature value and different operation modes that allow the user to optomize for conversion speed and current consumption. A high-resolution temperature output allows the implementation of an altimeter/thermometer function without any additional sensor. The MS5805-02BA can be interfaced to any microcontroller. The communication protocol is simple, without the need of programming internal registers in the device. This new sensor module generation is based on leading MEMS technology and latest benefits from MEAS Switzerland's proven expertise and knowhow in high volume manufacturing of altimeter modules. Low hysteresis and high stability of both pressure and temperature signal.

2 Media-Compatible Pressure Sensors

Servoflo offers many media-compatible pressure sensors along the price-performance continuum. Today we are highlighting 2 options.

 

ME780 The first is the ME780 Series by Metallux. The ME780 family uses a hybrid technology and Metallux's chip-on-board expertise to have signal conditioning directly integrated on top of the sensor. Together with membrane media-compatibility, the sensors offer a compact solution and precise temperature compensation. The sensor is available in many pressure ranges between 0.5 to 600 Bar, and delivers a ratiometric output of 0.5 to 4.5 VDC. Overvoltage, short circuit and ESD protection included.

86BSD Pressure Sensor

Next, the 86BSD by Measurement Specialities is a small profile, media compatible, piezoresistive silicon pressure 

sensors packaged in a 316L stainless steel housing. This digital output pressure sensor supports I2C and SPI interface protocols, may come in a 3.3 or 5.0 VDC supply voltage and is designed for O-ring mounting. The sensing package utilizes silicone oil to transfer pressure from the 316L stainless steel diaphragm to the sensing element.

The 86BSD is designed for high performance, low pressure applications. A custom ASIC is used for temperature compensation, offset correction and provides a digital output of 10-90% or 5-95%. Various pressure ranges up to 300 psi.

Sensor Signal Conditioning
New Low Power SSIC ZSSC3036
zssc3016 sensor signal conditionerZSSC3036 is a sensor signal conditioner integrated circuit for high accuracy amplification and analog-to-digital conversion of a differential input signal. Designed for high resolution altimeter module applications, the ZSSC3036 can perform offset, span and 1st and 2nd order temperature compensation of the measured signal. Developed for correction of resistive bridge sensors, it can also provide a corrected temperature output measured with an internal sensor.

Micropumps
New Developer Kit for TCS Micropumps
TCS miniature pump developer kitTCS has just released a developer kit for use with the following pumps: M100 Series (0-400 ml/min for liquids), M200 Series (0-700 ml/min for liquids), M400 Series (0-2600 ml/min for liquids) and D200 Series (0-490 ml/min for air/gas).

The kit is a versatile electronic design based on the latest Freescale semiconductor family of self-contained ARM-Cortex microcontrollers. The board comes complete with schematics, interconnecting cable, software libraries and documentation. 
The price is $395 (note, pumps are purchased separately).

2 New Li-Ion Battery Management IC's

2 new li-ion battery management IC's have been added.

 

The ZSPM4521 is for li-ion battery management with photovoltaic sources.

 

The ZSPM4523 is a high efficiency solar PV MPPT regulator for super cap systems.

 

Both models are DC/DC synchronous switching lithium-ion battery chargers with fully integrated power switches, internal compensation, and full fault protection.

ZSLS7031 Isolated & Non-Isolated Flyback LED Driver

ZSLS7031 Flyback LED Driver IC The ZSLS7031 is a primary-side controlled, peak-current-mode high-brightness LED flyback driver that supports both isolated and non-isolated designs with active power factor correction (PFC).

 

The device works at a constant frequency in discontinuous conduction mode to provide constant power to the output. It eliminates the need for an opto-coupler, the TL431 shunt regulator, or any other type of secondary-side feedback device. It operates from a wide input voltage range of 85VAC to 265VAC.

 

The ZSLS7031 integrates over-current and over-voltage protection, as well as a thermal shutdown to halt the switching action in the event of abnormally high operating temperatures.

  • Power factor PF less than 0.95 depending on application
  • Wide application input voltage range: 85V to 265VAC
  • Internal over-temperature protection
  • Output over-voltage protection
  • Output over-current protection (OCP) on primary side
