Repent America to Witness in 'Witch City'
|
 Repent America (RA) will travel to Salem, Massachusetts this week to preach the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those celebrating Halloween in America's "Witch City."
Each year, Salem hosts a month-long public celebration of darkness known as "Haunted Happenings," which features various activities that reflect the city's long unrepentant history of witchcraft and the occult. The presence of evil is especially heavy in Salem during the Halloween season, attracting tens of thousands of participants from across the country.
RA has been preaching in Salem for many years, and has witnessed the city's intense hostility toward the word of God. At times, attendees openly blaspheme God and dress mockingly as Jesus Christ to display their hatred for Christianity. A number of participants are also real-life witches and psychics, and operate occult shops in the downtown area of Salem. Foursquare "Pastor" Phil Wyman, who conducts dream interpretations and "Psalm readings" during Haunted Happenings, was excommunicated from his church several years ago for compromising truth while forging friendships with witches. Wyman now oversees another congregation in the city and continues to defend his actions.
As Christians, we are called to be a light in the darkness and to overcome evil with good. Please pray that Jesus, who is the Light of the world, will shine forth in Salem as we lift Him up on the streets over the next week.

Mayor Confronted for Conducting Same-Sex 'Marriages'
|
 Repent America (RA) traveled to Newark, New Jersey this week to warn the wicked of their way as same-sex "marriages" were performed shortly after the stroke of midnight on Monday, the earliest time the city could rush to do so.
While ceremonies took place across the state, Newark was at the center of attention as Mayor and Senator-elect Cory Booker availed himself to officiate the "weddings" at city hall. Approximately 150 people gathered for the midnight event, some to participate and some to serve as witnesses. The ministry confronted Booker, a professing Christian who attends Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, as he arrived to conduct the ceremonies, imploring him to repent of his support for the sin of homosexuality.
RA continued preaching the word of God outside city hall as the service was underway, while New Jersey resident Mark de Rouville, who joined with the ministry that night, went inside to witness the proceedings. At one point, Booker asked if there were any objections to the union of the first two homosexuals to be "wed." Immediately de Rouville felt compelled by God to speak out, and declared, "This is unlawful in the eyes of God and Jesus Christ!" Booker then ordered police to remove de Rouville from the room, and announced emphatically, "Not hearing any substantive and worthy objections, I will now proceed."

Reaching Out at 'OutFest'
|
 Repent America (RA) returned this month to declare the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the thousands who attended "OutFest," one of several celebrations of homosexuality held in Philadelphia each year. It was at this same festival that eleven Christians with RA, who became known as "the Philadelphia 11," were unlawfully arrested in 2004 for their witness and charged under Pennsylvania's "hate crimes" law. After being vindicated of all charges, their arrests later led to the law being struck down in the courts as unconstitutional. This year, instead of arresting members of the ministry, police apprehended two attendees that became physically hostile in response to the preaching. However, many seeds were planted as well as the crowds gathered throughout the day to listen to the Biblical message of repentance and faith in Christ. A number of event-goers also stopped to ask questions and engage in genuine conversation.
RA has been preaching the word of God at "OutFest" for a decade and providing the hope and freedom that is found in Jesus Christ. There is no doubt that there is an intense spiritual battle raging in our nation to destroy the souls of men through sexual sin and perversion. The Body of Christ must boldly take the light to the darkness, and as instructed in the Book of Jude, "of some have compassion, making a difference, and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire."

America's Abortion Holocaust Exposed

 Repent America (RA) recently visited Independence National Historical Park and West Chester University in Pennsylvania to expose the bloodguilt of America's abortion holocaust.
The outreach was part of a two-day effort of speaking out against abortion, which has resulted in the ongoing slaughter of 4,000 American children a day, over 50 million and counting since 1973.
Just as Jewish Holocaust museums work to create awareness of the plight of the Jews in Nazi, Germany, the ministry uses opportunities such as these to be a voice for the unborn children that are appointed for destruction. During the evangelistic effort, RA proclaimed the word of God to the crowds and offered literature on the abortion holocaust. While some were apathetic toward the display, others reacted in horror and expressed their thankfulness that the reality of abortion was being exposed.
Now that campuses have reopened following summer break, the ministry has been visiting a number of colleges and universities to preach the Gospel, including Temple University, Millersville University, the Community College of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. Campuses throughout New England will hear the Gospel next month.
RA is thankful that the truth about abortion was presented to thousands in the Philadelphia area. As in the words of British abolitionist William Wiliberforce, "Having heard all this, you may choose to look the other way, but you can never say again that you did not know."

Fire Engulfs New Jersey Boardwalk

 Repent America (RA) spent several weekends this summer preaching the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the Seaside Heights boardwalk in New Jersey.
The boardwalk is an especially difficult place to evangelize as the message of the Gospel is often opposed by business owners and met with much hostility by the majority of hearers. However, being a popular public attraction, a number of area Christians find the location to be an optimum venue to reach the lost with the truth of God's word.
 Last month, just days after the ministry had spent an evening urging the people to come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, a fire ripped through the Seaside Heights boardwalk, destroying a large percentage of the businesses along the shoreline. The boardwalk had just been rebuilt following the devastation suffered by Hurricane Sandy and the town was about to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The weekend following the fire, RA traveled to Seaside Heights to again preach to the crowds that strolled along the remainder of the boardwalk that had not been destroyed. Please pray that Seaside Heights will repent of its sins and turn to Christ for salvation.

'Million Muslim March' Met With Message of Gospel
|
 Repent America (RA) traveled to Washington, D.C. last month to preach the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Muslims that were gathering for what was originally touted as a "Million Muslim March."
However, as the event was held on 9/11, the anniversary of the terrorist attacks upon American soil, less than a dozen Muslims attended the gathering in the nation's capital, resulting in a virtual no-show.
 Nonetheless, RA used the opportunity to preach to those that were present, exalting Jesus Christ on the national mall and near the White House. It was a great blessing to discover that the cab driver who transported members of the ministry team to the White House was a Christian, as he exuded excitement and thankfulness that the Gospel was being proclaimed on the streets. RA gave the driver literature to distribute as he explained that he would like to share his faith in Christ more often.
Cornel West, a Professor of Religion at Princeton University and a civil rights activist who was invited to present a speech at the Islamic gathering, also stopped to speak with the ministry. After introducing himself to Jim and learning about the outreach, he received a Gospel tract and expressed a receptiveness to the message being preached.
