Word of God Proclaimed in the 'Cesspool of Sin'
|
 Repent America (RA) is in North Carolina this weekend to preach the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ at Asheville's annual Bele Chere Festival, the most popular music and arts festival in the South.
The ministry first visited Asheville last year, a lawless municipality that was dubbed by state Senator Jim Forrester as being a "cesspool of sin." Vendors sold shirts bearing the slogan during the 2012 event, and many of the Christians that were present noted that hostility toward the Gospel was greater than ever before. An estimated 200,000 spectators flock to the three-day festival.
This year, the response from attendees has been exceedingly perverse. Many of the eventgoers have reacted to the preaching of the word of God with vile outbursts and gestures, and an increased number of women walk around topless at the event while the Asheville police stand by, refusing to intervene. Nonetheless, the glorious Gospel is going forth among the heathen and many one-on-one conversations are taking place with attendees.
It is grievous to observe the flagrant rebellion against God in our nation, including in the heart of the Bible Belt. Please pray that the Gospel will pierce the souls of the lost during this year's festival and that God's will would be done as His light shines into one of the darkest cities in the South.

True Liberty Declared on Independence Day

 Repent America (RA) observed this year's Fourth of July holiday by proclaiming the word of God and the good news of the Gospel to thousands in the birthplace of America.
The ministry spent much of the day open-air preaching at Independence National Historical Park where the Declaration of Independence was signed and where the Scripture-inscribed Liberty Bell is on display. Hundreds had the opportunity to hear the Gospel, and many stopped to engage RA in conversation out of genuine interest in the message. A number of believers also expressed thankfulness for the ministry's work and stated that they had been inspired to share their faith with others.
 Following the outreach near the Liberty Bell, RA ministered to tens of thousands near the grand finale fireworks held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. While many were apathetic toward the preaching of Scripture, and others responded with vile comments and gestures, God was glorified in the midst of it all as His word went forth boldly.
As our nation drifts further away from Almighty God, the Gospel must continue to be proclaimed in the darkness. The people of God must utilize what is left of the blessings of liberty and share the good news while there is still time.
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." - Galatians 5:1

Christ Proclaimed at Prominent Pride Parades
|
 Repent America (RA) preached the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ at two large homosexual pride celebrations during the month of June, which was declared as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month" by Barack Obama for the fifth consecutive year.
The ministry traveled to Washington, D.C. to reach out to attendees of Capital Pride, which attracted thousands of participants and spectators. As the preaching went forth, many raged against the word of God, throwing beer, water and lemonade at those proclaiming the truth of Scripture. Others attacked the ministry's equipment, but were apprehended by police. However, some stopped to listen and displayed genuine interest.
There was a similar reception at Philly Pride in Pennsylvania, where many heckled the preaching and rejected the message of repentance and faith in Christ. Nonetheless, Jesus was lifted high throughout the day and His word went forth to all who would hear, or see. During the pride parade, the ministry carried a banner simply declaring Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall."
As the United States Supreme Court further legitimized the homosexual lifestyle last month by striking down a key part of the Defense of Marriage Act, homosexuality continues to be a major factor in the fight for the soul of America. Please pray that God will bless America with repentance from its wicked deeds.

Reaching the Beach as Christ is Preached

 As summer is in full swing, boardwalks and beaches are optimum places to preach the Gospel to large crowds of people.
Repent America (RA) traveled to Jersey Shore and the Seaside Heights boardwalk in New Jersey last month to reach the lost for the glory of God.
One outreach developed into a bilingual effort as a Spanish-speaking Christian translated the messages for the Hispanic residents on the beach. During another night, one man covered the mouth of his girlfriend as she uttered profanity in response to the preaching, and declared, "I cannot argue with that. He is right on that!"
Christ taught that His people are to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth, including right in their own hometown. Why not pray and ask God how He can use you to reach the lost this summer where you live?
"The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore [to] the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest." - Matthew 9:37-38

Cirque Du Soleil Evolution Show Met With Truth of Creation
|
 Repent America (RA) traveled to Camden, New Jersey in late May to reach out to attendees of a Cirque Du Soleil show about the so-called evolution of man.
"Totem," a circus-like acrobatic and dance production, was to demonstrate to the audience how man purportedly crawled out of the ocean as an amphibian, and eventually developed into the human he is today. The highly popular entertainment company drew a significantly large crowd that night near the city's Waterfront.
In response to the event, the ministry preached about the Creator who made man in His image,  and the salvation that He offers to those who will repent and believe the Gospel. Literature was also distributed to attendees.
Prior to the outreach, the ministry preached near a popular bus stop and distributed Gospel literature to passersby. Other efforts were conducted in the state over the past few months as well, including a visit to Princeton University, which was established in the 19th century as a Christian institution. Street preacher Jonathan Edwards, who is known for his sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," was the third president of Princeton in 1858.
Please pray that the seeds that were planted in the lives of many will result in a harvest of salvation.
