Fishing Update
Petaluma River: The bite has been good here in the river. Matthew, one of our customers was fishing the mouth of the river today before coming back in for more rig's being that something wrapped around his line shreading it the breaking it off for a total of three times! I wonder what that could have been? Sturgeon? I think so. There have been Sturgeon caught and marked all throughout the river here and they were fishing in the same hole we were last week when we got ours. We had a few Leopard Sharks caught here near the mouth as well mostly on Grass Shrimp. Strippers are being caught off shore here at Port Sonoma and Black Point boat launch.
Napa River: Solid Stripper bite. Trolling in the upper river has been great as well a using bullheads. The fish that are being caught here seem to have been a little bigger than the ones we are bringing in on our river with reports up to 10lbs. Sturgeon have been caught with limited reports. Stay in the lower Napa if targeting Sturgeon. (see map below)
San Pablo Bay: Not sure what the story is over at China Camp but we had some customers come back over here talking about it being roped off with no access because of the big race in the area today. Yesterday a customer reported a keeper bass for him and a few buddies and said it has been a little slow. Sharks are still in abundance in the bay and there have even been some nice four footers. Primarily Leopard sharks. I would be surprised if they weren't catching Sturgeon near the mouth of Sonoma Creek.
Bait: Oh shoot do we have some nice Ghost Shrimp in... People have been saying that the Sturgeon are hitting primarily on the Ghost Shrimp and we have had a couple groups come back in for more. We still have plenty of Grass, Bullheads and Pileworms. Going crabbing? We have you covered with Squid galore!

Low Tides: We recommend that you do not try to boat into our slough right now unless it is high tide. The mud is pretty thick and if you can just stop by before you launch. We hate to see you guys mess up your engine kicking up mud on the bottom of a tide. Until they dredge you gotta drive here before you launch.
Brenden Hanley and Scott Warner fished near the train tracks on the Petaluma River and nailed this nice Leopard Shark on Grass. Nice catch guys and thanks for the photo! Jason Hood took a week off fishing and headed up to Lake Sonoma for a Wild Boar hunt. They hunted on Pat Turner's ranch. He tagged this monster and his buddy got another. Brad Hood once again not pictured...
