Deva Sherman and Kevin "fished with tray pack anchovies and herring and tried to rope in a few salmon outside the gate in the muir beach area. Well my little 18.5 ft sea ray ski boat battled out there no.problem!  It took till about 3 pm but we got limits for 2 people including these 2 slugs! All caught with cable baits and a small fish flash flasher in the 40-80 pull range! Thanks again for always having quality bait for us!

Leah Weil and Ray caught a 28"& 27" as well as a 24"& 22" in the napa river last Sunday morning.  They used the Bull Head coupon and from the looks of things used every last one of em'.

Here is a video from up north on the Fraser River in British Colombia.  This Sturgeon is estimated around 700lbs!!! Now that's a fat bastard!
Fraser river sturgeon 700lb?

Fishing Update
  • ***Petaluma River***:  I had limits on Bass by 9am this morning while fishing with Bullheads here in the Slough.  Both fish were 20" (see the prop in the video).  The action here in the Petaluma River is still great.  I have been spooled twice this week by a monster Ray here at Port Sonoma and they are still around.  Colin and his Grandpa (see pics below) also caught three nice keepers today on Bullheads right near the train tracks.  We really couldn't ask for better fishing during these nice tides.  If there is water moving the bite should be a go!  Some of the slower tides have led to slower fishing but overall it is good here on the Petaluma River.
  • Napa River: Slow Sturgeon bite still in the lower river.  Bass have been caught while fishing with Bullheads also.  Our good friend of the shop and last years fishing derby medalist Vern fished lower Napa this last week and had great luck fishing for Sturgeon.  He had a keeper measuring in at 61" and even an undersized Sturgeon.  Grass Shrimp has been working and like we said above fish those tides hat have a lot of water moving.
  • San Pablo Bay: McNears Pier has reports of primarily Ray and Shark still.  There have been some nice Leopards caught here and some monster bat rays.  Either way fisherman have reported action.  China Camp has been decent for Bass, we had a customer report to us today that he and a buddy had 3 keepers a couple of days ago fishing the afternoon tide.
  • Bait:  We pulled back of Ghost Shrimp for another week, they came in soft and we had a hard time keeping them alive.  We will try again in two weeks and by that time we expect the Sturgeon bite to have picked up.  We still have plenty of Grass Shrimp and a "buttload" of Bullheads.
  • Dave Hurley provides the best detailed fishing report for the greater Bay Area.  Check it out and sign up: The Hurley Chronicles
  • Low Tides: We recommend that you do not try to boat into our slough right now unless it is high tide.  The mud is pretty thick and if you can just stop by before you launch.  We hate to see you guys mess up your engine kicking up mud on the bottom of a tide.  Until they dredge you gotta drive here before you launch.

Here is Tom Thompson and his nice 24" caught at Black Point last Sunday.  This side of the river has been producing nice fish this week.  Thanks for the pic Tom!

Colin Gilman and his Grandpa Don fished today with Bullheads right near the train tracks here on the Petaluma River.  It wasn't long before they came back in to take this photo of two bigger Bass they had caught.  That one on the left is a 32" 11lb monster!
