Chamber Holds State of Chesterfield Township
Macomb County Chamber CEO Grace Shore, Chesterfield Township Supervisor Mike Lovelock, Macomb County Commissioner (District 8) Kathy Vosburg and Chamber Board Member Lori Doughty

The annual State of Chesterfield Township breakfast event was held on Friday, April 8 at the Township's offices.  Township Supervisor Mike Lovelock was the keynote speaker, while Macomb County Commissioner Kathy Vosburg and Phil Kraft from US Representative Candice Miller's office provided insight. Event sponsors were AT&T, Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals, Baker College, C&G Newspapers and First State Bank.  The Macomb County Chamber is proud to provide this State of the Community series to our surrounding communities and their residents.



Eos Cafe & Coffee House Opens

A ribbon cutting was held on Friday, April 8 for new member Eos Cafe & Coffee House at 30625 Jefferson in St. Clair Shores.  Eos is owned by Tony Zarife and Michael Antoun.  Attendees included St. Clair Shores City Manager Michael Smith and Mayor Pro-Tem John Caron, Chamber Ambassadors Rick Venet, Jeremiah Hoehner and Marcie Gracey and staff and family.  Everyone was treated to free coffee samples and half-off purchases.  They also announced that Eos is partnering with Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan for a charity preview event on Saturday, April 16, 5-9 pm at the cafe.  Admission is $10/person.  For tickets, contact Wigs 4 Kids at 586-772-6656 or maggie@wigs4kids.org.

Credit Union Opens Wayne County Branch
Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union held a ribbon cutting on March 29 at its new Livonia office, its first Wayne County branch.  The branch will continue the celebration April 18-23 with special giveaways and a Weber grill raffle for members and the community.  More information on the new office is available at msgcu.org/newbranch.

English Gardens Celebrates Earth Day
English Gardens is holding events in its area stores to usher in the spring gardening season.  "Get Ready to Garden" will be Thursday, April 21, 5-8 pm at all stores.  "Connect: Health, Home & Happiness" will be Saturday, April 23, 11 am, at the Clinton Township store (44850 Garfield Rd) and on Sunday, April 24, 1 pm, at the Royal Oak store (4901 Coolidge Hwy).  Find more details at EnglishGardens.com/events.

Anton Art Center Exhibits K-6 Student Show
Anton Art Center is running its newest exhibit, 2016 Biennial Macomb County K-6 Student Show, April 23-May 14. The Opening Reception and Award Ceremony is Saturday, April 23, 1-3 pm.  The Art Center is at 125 Macomb Place in Mount Clemens. Credit Union Changes Name, Expands Field
Central Macomb Community Credit Union changed its name to FreeStar Financial Credit Union to better align with its new field of membership, which now encompasses 10 counties in Southeast Michigan and all military members throughout Michigan.  The credit union, which began in 1957 on Selfridge ANGB serving military members, has four branches in Macomb County and will look for expansion opportunities over the next few years.  President and CEO Drema Isaac said special pricing on loans and Certificates of Deposit are available at its branches during the month of April.
