Update Your Home Address to Receive Your W-2 Form
The IRS Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, is used to report wages paid to employees and the taxes withheld from them during the previous calendar year. Employers must complete a Form W-2 for each employee to whom they pay a salary, wage, or other compensation.
Bon Secours Health System's 2016 W-2 forms will be printed and mailed to employees by Jan. 31. Sunday, Jan. 8, is the last day to change your address so that your W-2 form gets mailed to your correct location. Please go to ezAccess/AskHR and go to "View/Update my Home Address" to check your address and to update it if necessary. If you have any questions, contact the Human Resources Operations Center (HROC) at (804) 887-7600 or toll-free at 1-(855) 336-7600.
Confirm your Social Security number, too! Also, while you are logged on to ezAccess/AskHR, go to "View My Personal Profile" and confirm that your Social Security number is correct. If you find an error, contact the HROC.

EAP Richmond Honored with National Technology Award

The award honors Bon Secours' innovation and the ability to align clinical knowledge and skills with technology. Question: What exercise can I do with limited time during the holidays?
Answer: Try Tabata training! Each exercise in this workout lasts only 4 minutes. The structure of the workout is to exercise hard for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and continue this for eight rounds. Pushing yourself hard for 20 seconds and resting for 10 seconds equals one round.
|
You can do this with almost any exercise, but I recommend selecting exercises that will work multiple muscle groups. Examples include squats, pushups and burpees. Select an exercise and give it a try! Select three or four exercises, and you can have a full body workout in 12-16 minutes.
Tabata is a great way to get a quick workout if you're short on time, need to switch up your routine, or want to improve endurance. This training style improves both cardiovascular and muscular fitness. The holidays are a busy time of year, so get more exercise done in less time with Tabata!

Question:"I'm a 30-something male who's really trying to be healthier. What's the best vitamin for me?"
Answer: The answer to this question may surprise you. Though vitamin and mineral supplements are heavily promoted, the best way to attain optimal nutrition is through food.
A balanced diet of vegetables, fruits, lean protein, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans and low-fat dairy most likely provides what you need and more. According to the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, "Nutritional needs should be met primarily from foods ... dietary supplements may be useful in providing one or more nutrients that otherwise may be consumed in less-than-recommended amounts." Nutritional deficiencies are not common in America.
Typically, your physician or dietitian will not recommend a supplement unless some of the following are true:
 | You are on a restrictive diet (<1,600 calories per day) | | You are 50+ years old | | You are a vegan or vegetarian | | You have a medical condition or certain food allergies that require supplementation | | You are on medications that impact your nutrient absorption | | You are a woman of childbearing age or are pregnant |
Too much of some vitamins and minerals can cause health problems. Always check with your physician before deciding if a supplement is right for you.
