Transition to CVS Caremark for
Prescriptions on Sept. 1

CVS Caremark Logo

CVS Caremark replaces Express Scripts as Bon Secours' prescription provider on Sept. 1 for all employees covered by an Aetna Medical Plan. Here are some important details to know regarding this transition:

green bullet

Covered employees should have received a card from CVS Caremark to use for their general medications.

green bullet

You may use any participating retail drugstore that is part of the CVS Caremark network, including Bon Secours retail pharmacies, as well as Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS and others.

green bullet

When you use a Bon Secours or CVS pharmacy, you will get an added benefit for maintenance drugs. You will receive a three-month supply for just two co-pays, the same discount as if you used the CVS Caremark mail order pharmacy.

green bullet

While the overall prescription plan structure will not change, there could be differences in how medications are covered and the amount you will pay.

green bullet

Federal law requires all employers to provide coverage for certain contraceptive services. Since Bon Secours is a religious facility this mandated coverage is provided directly by CVS Caremark and Aetna. To receive a card to use for contraceptive prescriptions, participants will need to contact CVS Caremark at 1-888-924-8738.

Click here to review CVS Caremark Frequently Asked Questions or call CVS at 1-877-878-1668.

Employees Celebrate Christmas in July
Cardiovascular Associates of Virginia, located within the Bon Secours Heart & Vascular Institute, celebrated Christmas in July last month with a Secret Santa exchange.
Instead of having a Christmas tree, employees left summer-themed gifts, including flip flops, beach towels, bright finger nail polish and cold drinks, on the windowsill.

The last day of the celebration, the office held a Friday cookout and potluck for office employees. Those who participated in the Secret Santa exchange revealed themselves, and presented one final gift.
