Emerging Leaders Explore Work Styles
Bon Secours' Emerging Leaders Employee Resource Group (ERG) in May learned about how different generations set priorities, attitudes, communication styles and ways to engage with peers at an Intergenerational Panel event last month.
Bon Secours' Emerging Leaders ERG is one of two currently offered by our health system. An ERG is a group of people who come together around a single aspect of diversity to take action that supports BSHSI's mission, business objectives and policies.

 Building a Healthier Community
Bon Secours Healthy Communities initiative recently awarded Norfolk nonprofit Five Points Community Farm Market a $40,000 grant. The funding will be used to build a 375-square-foot community kitchen to provide an opportunity for individuals and small-food producers to create unique products in a professionally fitted commercial kitchen.
The Five Points Community Farm Market has been working with Bon Secours for the past five years through Passport to Health, which helps to provide fresh produce to low-income families in the area.

Bon Secours Health System Named 2016 Gallup Great Workplace Award Winner
Bon Secours Health System has again received the 2016 Gallup Great Workplace Award, created by Gallup to recognize organizations for their extraordinary ability to create engaged workplace cultures that drive business outcomes. This marks the fifth consecutive year Bon Secours has received the award.
The Gallup Great Workplace Award, now in its 10th year, recognizes organizations that meet Gallup's eligibility criteria. Engagement scores are rendered from Gallup's 12-question survey (Q-12), which measures what matters most to employees.
A highly engaged workforce, according to Gallup, can mean the difference between a company that thrives and one that struggles. When employees are engaged, they are passionate, creative and entrepreneurial, and their enthusiasm fuels business growth.
