CARE Channel Logo
Bon Secours Virginia is committed to empowering our employees, and to ensuring that you have the equipment and resources to do your job.
Consider this example. A staff-led pain committee at St. Mary's Hospital was looking for ways to help patients manage pain through guided imagery and meditation. The group researched options and recommended that the hospital introduce The C.A.R.E. (Continuous Ambient Relaxation Environment®) Channel, 24-hour relaxation programming that can be offered on hospital televisions and is produced especially for patients.

C.A.R.E channel help patients relax.
Hospital administration approved it, and patients and staff alike have praised it. But its value went further when one night, a patient was so agitated and confused that his nurse was preparing to call a Code Atlas to notify all of a combative patient. But first, the nurse decided to try The C.A.R.E. Channel.
The patient watched for a minute, then returned to his bed and eventually fell asleep.
Got a great idea that can help our patients? Often, our employees on the front lines have suggestions that can transform care delivery. Be sure to let your supervisor know.

Our annual Gallup Employee Engagement survey will be held April 18-May 1.

New Health Insurance Form
Coming to Employees

A new health insurance form will be mailed to all Bon Secours employees by March 31. Bon Secours, and all large employers, must now send an annual statement about the health insurance that the organization offers to its employees as a result of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA). The information will be provided on an IRS form, called a 1095-C form.

The new form relates to the federal requirement that all individuals have health insurance coverage, and will contain the following:

green bulletInformation about Bon Secours, you, and any dependents you covered under the Bon Secours Medical Plan.
green bulletThe months during the year when you and your dependents were eligible for coverage from Bon Secours.
green bulletThe cost of the lowest monthly employee only premium you could have paid under the Bon Secours plan.

While Bon Secours is required to send this form to all employees, it does not need to be filed as part of your taxes. Rather, the document should be kept with your other income tax documents, in the event the IRS wishes to determine whether you had health coverage offered to you. The document can also be used to determine whether you or a dependent is eligible for a subsidy (a reduced premium) if enrolled in coverage through the health care insurance exchange.

For more information about the form click here for an FAQ document. If you have questions please contact HROC at 1-855-336-7600.
