Our Babies Go Red, Too
Nurses are ready for the arrival of babies born during Heart Month. Many of those babies will wear red caps, reminding parents of the importance of heart health right from the very beginning.

Why Go Red?
Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. It's important to know your risk and make positive lifestyle changes so you don't become a statistic.

BSV Hospitals Recognized as Blue Distinction Centers
Anthem Blue Cross recently deemed several Bon Secours Virginia facilities across Richmond and Hampton Roads as Blue Distinction Centers or Blue Distinction Centers+. The Blue Distinction designation recognizes hospitals for expertise in delivering specialty care, and Blue Distinction Centers+ are hospitals recognized for going a step further with both expertise and efficiency in delivering specialty care.
The Blue Distinction Center program evaluates hospitals on their ability to deliver high quality and safe specialty care based on criteria that directly impact patient results --- e.g., surgical team expertise and a history of better outcomes for patients. Hospitals receiving a Blue Distinction Center+ designation are also measured on how efficiently they deliver this high-quality patient care.
