Again this year, Bon Secours Health System is requiring that all employees, credentialed medical staff, volunteers and others who work in one of our patient care facilities (including students over the age of 18, contractors and vendors who work for, provide services to or otherwise do business with Bon Secours Health System) receive the seasonal influenza vaccination.

Specified individuals (employees, board members and credentialed medical staff) who choose not to get the flu vaccination MUST wear a surgical mask for the duration of the flu season when working at any Bon Secours patient care facility. Proof of receiving the flu vaccination must be completed and submitted to Employee Wellness by Nov. 1.

Shed to Share Log Champions

Congratulations to Martha Whitlow of Virginia Orthopaedic and Spine Specialists and Angela Deffenbaugh of Crossridge Internal Medicine, our July Shed to Share Weight Log champions! They logged their weight each week in the Motivation Alliance, as recommended.

These employees each won a gift certificate for a free personal training session with Bon Secours inMotion. There will also be prize drawings in August and September among those employees logging their weight for Shed to Share. Shed to Share participants are also eligible for a special offer from inMotion.

Keep up the good work, Shed to Share participants!

that Changed Her Mind

Tia'Lana Myles found it hard to believe that healthy meals could also be delicious.

Kudos!

Amy Cutter, Wellness Program manager, recently received this note of thanks after presenting on health and well-being at the Employee Engagement Unit Champion celebration in July.

I especially appreciated and was inspired by the various ways to "boost your wellbeing" categories, and I'm pretty sure I've been a complete nuisance to everyone around me since.

I wasn't sure what to expect, actually, but it ended up being simply elegant and productive for my inner self. I returned to work actually pained that my coworkers and those in other departments were not able to participate.

So again, thank you. I wanted you to know that your work was very meaningful for me.

Sincerely,

Jeanette Moreland
