Second Sunday in Lent
O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy: Be gracious
to all who have gone astray from your ways, and bring them
again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and
hold fast the unchangeable truth of your Word, Jesus Christ
your Son; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
- Book of Common Prayer p 218

What's the Difference between the E-News and E-Chronicle?
The E-News comes out twice a month, usually the closest business day to the 1st and 16th. It contains announcements for upcoming events and other important information that needs to get out.
The E-Chronicle, on the other hand, has less urgency. It comes out every other month, and reports on events that have already taken place. It may also feature special interest stories and reflections from folks around the Diocese.
We're here to help you spread the word about any events you have coming up (E-News), and also sharing the results with others in the Diocese (E-Chronicle). Send over your fliers, notices, photos and stories... you never know whose life you could impact or inspire!
To submit information for an upcoming event or to share photos and information on an event that has taken place, e-mail Communications.

The ChristOlympics for All Youth!
Sunday, April 6, Calvary Kaneohe
By Fr. Leo Loyola
Get ready for the biggest sports moment in the Diocese of Hawai'i: The 2014 ChristOlympics is here!
On April 6, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, middle school and high school youth from across the state will descend upon Calvary Episcopal Church, Kaneohe, to compete in a series of games and challenges centered on Bible knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith. The ChristOlympics promises to be a wonderful opportunity for our youth to make new friends with those who also share in their faith. It is also a fun and unintimidating way for youth to invite their friends to a church event. While geared toward pre-teens and teens, younger kids are invited to participate as well. A light dinner will be served and a short communion service will conclude the event.

Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF) Urges Pope Francis to Call for Justice in Palestine
The Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF) joins 19 Episcopal bishops - current and retired, including former Presiding Bishops Edmond Browning and Frank Griswold III; as well as Nobel Laureates Desmond Tutu and Mairead Maquire; and Bonnie Anderson, past President of the House of Deputies, in calling for Pope Francis to speak out against Israel government injustices toward the Palestinian people especially the suffering of their youth during his upcoming visit to the Holy Land in May.
"In an Ash Wednesday Open Letter to Pope Francis more than 200 faith leaders from throughout the world implored him to speak out against the UNICEF-documented Israeli army's programming of kidnapping, detention and systematic abuse of Palestinian children aged 12 to 18," said the Rev. Allison Liles, EPF Executive Director.
"While Pope Francis will pray at the Western Wall (aka Wailing Wall) in Jerusalem's Old City as did his two predecessors, Popes John Paul II and Benedict, we urge him to also speak out against the occupation and colonization of Palestine in front of the Israeli government-named hafrada (separation) wall that symbolizes that country's suppression of its neighbor."
A link to read the letter to the Pope, as well as a list of interfaith religious leaders who have expressed their support of Sabeel's request, is on the EPF website.
Celebrating its 75th anniversary year, the Episcopal Peace Fellowship has worked for peace and social justice since Armistice Day 1939.
