The Holy Name Eternal Father, you gave to your incarnate Son the holy name of Jesus to be the sign of our salvation: Plant in every heart, we pray, the love of him who is the Savior of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Clergy Transitions
The following recent transitions have occurred in the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i:
The Rev. Leo Loyola
On Sunday, December 16, 2012, Leo Loyola was ordained by Bishop Robert Fitzpatrick at Calvary Episcopal Church in Kane'ohe. Representatives of all the Windward Region churches were there to support and congratulate him, and to welcome him to his new role in the Windward Regional Ministry. Rev. Loyola is responsible for being aware of the entire Windward Regional Ministry with direct oversight of Calvary Episcopal Church and administrative oversight of St. John's By-the Sea. (Photos from the St. John's by-the-Sea website by Melody Loyola)
The Rev. Malcolm Chun The Rev. Malcolm Chun has joined the Windward Regional Ministry, with responsibilities at St. John's By-the Sea in Kahuluu. Rev. Chun will serve there two Sundays a month and will help in setting up a team ministry for pastoral care and other services within the congregation.
Deacon Peter Wu Pictured above is Deacon Peter Wu's last Sunday at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Kaimuki, on December 30, 2012. Deacon Peter heads to St. Paul's in Honolulu, where he will model the diaconal ministry to several potential postulants from that congregation who are considering a call to the diaconate. Epiphany members honored Deacon Peter and his wife Mimi with a special Aloha breakfast and lots of good wishes on his next assignment. As one member shares, "We will miss him. Peter has helped Epiphany with our website and getting onto Facebook. Deacon Peter and Mimi are more than welcome to return to Epiphany--- anytime!"
