Derby Thanks!

Fishing Photos
Mike Hattam wanted to thank everyone for the derby and let us know that he is getting back into fishing after taking a hiatus.  His 2nd place trophy in this years derby combined with good fishing conditions have lead to him spending more time on the water.  Here he is with his fish and his fishing buddy/daughter Danielle

Carol and Gary Peterson just brought down (Sat 19th, 2:00pm) their 63" Sturgeon all the way from Napa.  They headed to Cuttings Wharf/Moore's Landing this morning with a half pound of Grass Shrimp.  Not but 15min in Carol got this beauty!  THe guys next to them on shore wanted to know where to get some of that Grass Shrimp, Leonard's baby!

Here is Tom "Ice-Cold" Waters and his keep! He was fishing out of Bodega the same day as the group to the right.  Seems like it was not just a nice day, but a nice bite as well.

About Us
We pride ourselves with having the freshest bait on the bay.  As the only bait shop on the bay with their own shrimp boat we can live up to that claim.  We are open 365 days a year at 6:30am.  Come on down and say hi to a friendly face.

Fishing Update
  • ***Napa River***:  Still your best bet for Sturgeon/Bass.  The size of the Bass being reported in this system in most impressive (see pic's below). Shore fishing at Cuttings Wharf is a must if you don't have a boat.  The Napa River has been our go to for the last couple months and the customers that took the advice have called/emailed their thanks for the tip.  That's what these reports are all about, us passing the current information from you guys to you guys of whats going on out there.
  • Petaluma River:  The bite from shore here at Port Sonoma is good.  There is a lot of action but most fish reported are undersized (Both Sturgeon and the Bass).  I had two different people tell me they saw big Sturgeon jumping in the river already today and goes to show that they haven't left yet!
  • San Pablo Bay:  It seems the reports have picked up from this area.  The only problem has been the wind lately.  That not only makes it hard to fish this area but also just as hard to shrimp and get bait... That being said if there is a break in the wind it is not a bad bet.
  • Bait:  restated the Grass supply is limited at best, and the Ghost shrimp is still pending.  Pile worms are in abundance and we are stocked up on frozen baits thanks to Big Red Worm Co.   Bullheads are also hard to come by, Joel Shrimped this morning and didn't get even one...We also have the tray pack items if you are going Salmon fishing you can pick those up here before hand and as always we appreciate you shopping local.
  • We recommend that you do not try to boat into our slough right now.  The mud is pretty thick and if you can just stop by before you launch.  We hate to see you guys mess up your engine kicking up mud on the bottom of a tide.  Until they dredge you gotta drive here before you launch.

Clifford Evans is shown here with his nice catch from the Napa River.  This is a 28", 12+lb Striped Bass that he got on some Grass Shrimp near buoy 11 last Sat.  This is just one of the many nice sized bass being pulled in on the Napa River lately...

Here is Bear and his buddies showing off their catch last week in between winds.  They fished out of Bodega and seemed to have got their limits of Salmon.
