COLLISION COURSE: "OUR DAILY BREAD" DEVOTIONAL FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 7

My wife and I were driving on an expressway when we saw a driver turn left into a median turnaround that was intended for emergency vehicles only. He was planning to make a U-turn and head back the other way.

Looking to his right, the driver waited for an opening in oncoming traffic, so he failed to notice that a police car was backing up toward him on his left. Finally seeing an opening in traffic, the U-turn driver pulled out and rammed into the back of the police car.

ADAM'S ARMY GAVE A TOTAL OF $4,805.70 TO STRONG FOUNDATION,
THE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY WHICH SHELTERS SAN ANTONIO HOMELESS FAMILIES

Located east of the Alamodome on North Hackberry Street, Strong Foundation is a Christ-centered, no-nonsense homeless ministry providing shelter for 20 families with children. And it's one of Alamo City's best kept secrets.

On Saturday, December 31st, 6 more members of Adam's Army stepped up to the plate and donated an additional $1,744.16 before 2011 drew to a close.  That blew the goal for raising another $404.32 out of the water.

And that brought the total to $4,805.70.  Praise God!  Each and every time I bring a worthy Christian cause to your attention, you amaze me by your sacrificial help.

In 2011, Strong Foundation ministered to over 200 children -- more that any other previous year.

"Thank you to everyone in Adam's Army who blessed us at the end of 2011.  We truly needed your assistance to continue to pay the bills of this vital ministry to homeless families.  Keep praying for us and consider volunteering down here throughout the year.  I'm always a phone call away at 210.789.0800."

OBAMA'S HARASSMENT OF SHERIFF JOE

As part of the Obama administration's lawsuit against Arizona's new law, SB 1070, President Obama's lawyers had an Immigration and Custom's Enforcement bureaucrat, Daniel Ragsdale, file a brief to the court against the state of Arizona. What Ragsdale said about immigration law enforcement gives the lie both to the Obama lawsuit and to the administration's current attacks on Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

ICE bureaucrat Ragsdale argued that Arizona did not need SB 1070 because the feds were already enforcing immigration law in the state. He even allowed for some cooperation with local officials.

Ragsdale specifically noted that as part of the vigorous federal enforcement operation, "Phoenix ... has a fugitive operations team, a robust criminal alien program, and it manages the 287(g) programs in the counties of Maricopa, Yavapai, and Pinal, as well as at the Arizona Department of Corrections."

Ron Paul, R-Texas, is in second place in each of the three surveys, while former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is fading. Former Utah Gov. ENCOURAGE YOUR PASTOR TO PREACH A CREATIONIST SERMON
ON DARWIN DAY, FEBRUARY  12, 2012

Darwin Day is coming up on Sunday, February 12th, as the pagans celebrate the birthday of Charles Darwin, the man who rejected God and invented the false theory of evolution.

Sabbsa charles darwin
Charles Darwin rejected God and invented the false theory of macro evolution.

The San Antonio Bible-Based Science Association wants to urge you to contact your pastor and suggest that he might prayerfully consider preaching a creationist message on Darwin Day as well as distributing creationist church bulletin inserts that proclaim the Biblical truth. (Check out links to possible sermon outlines).

Christians understand that man is God's crowning glory to creation, made with a divine purpose in mind. The pagans believe that man is nothing more than an animal, or worse yet, just a bunch of chemicals and chemical reactions.

Sadly, too many Christians, who should know better, have themselves rejected the clear teaching of Scripture. They have tried to put some lipstick on Darwin's evolution pig by proclaiming a belief in "theistic evolution." In other words, they contend that (a) there is a God and (b) that God created the earth and all living things through macro-evolution.

To be honest, that is a lie straight from the pit of hell!

sabbsa theistic evolution
Shockingly, some Christians believe that God created through theistic evolution.

Werner Gitt, in an article entitled
10 Dangers of Theistic Evolution, explains:

"The atheistic formula for evolution is:

"Evolution = matter + evolutionary factors (chance and necessity + mutation + selection + isolation + death) + very long time periods.

"In the theistic evolutionary view, God is added:

"Theistic evolution = matter + evolutionary factors (chance and necessity + mutation + selection + isolation + death) + very long time periods + God.

"In this system God is not the omnipotent Lord of all things, whose Word has to be taken seriously by all men, but He is integrated into the evolutionary philosophy. This leads to 10 dangers for Christians including both the denial of central Biblical teachings and the fact that the Biblical basis of Jesus' work of redemption is mythologized."

The creation account in Genesis is not a fairy tale. It is both historically and scientifically accurate. It's time that Christ-followers take a stand against the teachings and celebration of Charles Darwin.

In anticipation of the Sunday, February 12th celebration and virtual idol worship of Charles Darwin in this post-Christian world, why not use the occasion of his birthday to educate, equip and empower Christians with the truth?

Whether you teach Sunday School, lead a Bible study, pastor a church or just desire to share the truth with your friends and family, the San Antonio Bible-Based Science Association has provided some helpful resources to make a difference!

It's time to draw a line in the sand. No longer will we allow the Darwinian evolutionists to turn unbelievers, much less the body of Christ, away from the truth of the Bible and ultimately away from God.

ACTION STEPS FOR ADAM'S ARMY:

1. Print out and hand out a "Darwin Day flyer" which highlights the evils which evolutionist Charles Darwin inspired. You could use it as a church bulletin insert or as the foundation for a church bulletin insert.

2. Check out a 9-page, tongue-in-cheek presentation entitled "Thank you, Charles Darwin". This may be used for a single presentation or printed as additional flyers.
4. Empower your pastor to take a stand for the truth of God's creation in the pulpit on Sunday, February 12th. Forward this e-mail to him with a personal note from you, urging him to use one of the four helpful sermon outlines as a starting place in his preparation. (Don't hesitate to follow-up with a polite phone call to make sure he received this forwarded email).

* Creation and Evolution

5. Call Scott Lane of the San Antonio Bible-Based Science Association at 210.599.7240 or e-mail lanes_1@sbcglobal.net in order for one of their speakers to deliver a FREE, hour-long presentation -- complete with colorful Power Point slides -- on such topics as:

WITH MATCHING FUNDS, McMANUS SUBSCRIBERS HAVE FUNDED 2 YOUTH HUNTS!
THE GOAL IS 10. CAN YOU HELP?

NEW CHRISTIAN SAN ANTONIO HUNTING MINISTRY IS BORN
by Adam McManus

Over the course of my 20-year career as a radio talk show host, I've met and interviewed a lot of fascinating people. Many of them are household names which you would recognize instantly.

Tom Snyder, the 46-year-old owner of the regional Colonial Life Insurance office here in Garden Ridge, has got to be one of the most intriguing people I've met in a long time. He's not famous. He's not a political leader. And he hasn't even written a book.

But he's spearheading a unique Christian ministry in our own backyard whose vision is as big as the Texas sky.

Tom Snyder, founder of Trinity Oaks, teaches a young boy on a Youth Hunt.
If you would like to volunteer to be a guide, call 210.447.351.

Now that he has become a successful businessman, Tom, a member of River City Community Church here in San Antonio, has a passion to give back to the community - especially to the children in demonstrable, life-changing ways.

That's why he founded Trinity Oaks, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. At the heart of the ministry are the youth hunts for 10 to 16-year-olds. Throughout their time, the young people experience firearms safety instruction, target shooting and actual big game hunting.

In the process, Tom wants to give the tweens and teens access to the great outdoors, to build their character, and to teach them the importance of responsibility in our narcissistic culture.

10 to 16-year-old boys, like the ones pictured above on a Trinity Oaks Youth Hunt develop self-confidence, an appreciation of God's creation and connect with the volunteer hunting guides.

"Our goal with youth is three-fold. First, we want to teach kids that hunting is not just about 'killing animals', but also about building relationships and enjoying God's majestic outdoors. Second, we want to promote our country's hunting heritage to future generations," said Tom Snyder.

"Third and most importantly, we want to show children of all ages that they have value and let them know there are people who care about them, people willing to listen to them and mentor them. We have found you can really reach a child and make a difference in his life just by sitting next to a campfire and listening to what he has to say."

During the 2010/2011 hunting season alone, Tom personally acted as the lead field guide for every one of the 20 youth hunts attended by 85 young people, 53 of whom were first-time hunters. Typically, each hunt is comprised of 3-5 youngsters along with their fathers and some volunteer guides. Each youth is assigned to an adult.

Their goal for the upcoming 2011/2012 hunting season is to have 30 youth hunts attended by 100 kids and 75 first-time children hunters.

Amazingly, Trinity Oaks covers every single expense including the cost of transportation, the lease of the land, the hunting license fees as well as the food, lodging and the mounting of the child's wildgame trophy.

All the meat is processed for free by volunteers, ground up and frozen into family packs. It's then distributed to needy families and homeless shelters throughout San Antonio as well as orphanages in Mexico.

ACTION STEPS FOR ADAM'S ARMY:

1. If you would like to suggest a boy or girl between the ages of 10 and 16 to
participate in a future Trinity Oaks youth hunt
, please call 210.447.0351, and tell them you are a McManus subscriber, or email.

2. If you would like to volunteer to become a guide or firearms trainer for some of the
youth hunts,
please call 210.447.0351 and tell them you are a McManus subscriber or e-mail.

3. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to Trinity Oaks to ensure that the
Youth Hunts and Wounded Warrior Hunts continue, donate on-line here.

The cost of sending one underprivileged kid on a Christian Youth Hunt is $1,200. And now, thanks to the generosity of one sponsor, anything that you give up to $100,000 will be doubled.

So, if you give $150 today, your donation will be doubled to $300 and fund one-quarter of the $1,200 cost for one kid to participate in this life-changing ministry.

You can also make a tax-deductible donation by check made out to "Trinity Oaks." Send it to: Tom Snyder, Trinity Oaks, 9385 Miller Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78266. (Write "McManus newsletter" in the memo)

DAVID LIMBAUGH: DEMOCRATS SHOW NO WILLINGNESS TO TACKLE SPENDING MADNESS

President Obama is calling for dramatic defense cuts that could threaten our national survival while obstructing structural reforms to our entitlement programs that are essential for our national financial survival.

It just doesn't get much worse than this.

President George W. Bush attempted in good faith to reform Social Security, and Democrats savaged him.

Rep. Paul Ryan proposed a comprehensive financial plan that would, as painlessly as possible, restore national fiscal sanity, and Obama and his Democrats have misrepresented the plan (saying it would end Medicare) and used class warfare and fear-mongering to kill it in the cradle.

PAT BOONE: 1 CONSERVATIVE'S NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

I'm a deeply committed conservative. And not just politically; I'm just as conservative in my moral, spiritual and cultural convictions. Always have been, going back to my earliest memories, coming of age in Tennessee.

So, as I gaze into the coming year, convinced we as a people are poised at a literal do-or-die crossroads in our destiny, I feel the need to make some serious personal resolutions. And I hope that every real American conservative, whether Democrat, Republican or independent, will join me in these demands of ourselves as citizens.
