JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS, A GREAT TOOL TO DISCIPLE
YOUR DAUGHTER, GRANDDAUGHTER OR NIECE
Dan and Jackie Liberto, the San Antonio Christian parents of three daughters, want to bring biblical history alive for millions of girls as they feature Biblical heroines in their Freedom Girls collection. I have been in Bible Study Fellowship with Dan for years. Dan Liberto, creator of the 18-inch Ruth Doll and author of The Story of Ruth Through A Child's Eyes, is pictured here with his three daughters, Conner, 16, Syndey, 12, and Jordan, 7.
Their first 18-inch doll is Ruth, from the Old Testament, who comes with a companion book "The Story of Ruth Through A Child's Eyes." Now, your daughter, granddaughter or niece can have a doll who inspires loyalty and purity of heart straight from the pages of Scripture.
The Libertos selected Ruth to be the first Freedom Girl doll precisely because of the character attributes of Christ she displays like love, faithfulness and compassion. By contrast, I don't think the latest Barbie incarnation can hold a candle in light of her emphasis on immodesty, selfishness and materialism. If your daughter emulated Barbie, you'd be pulling your hair out. If she emulated Ruth, you'd be a proud parent indeed.
As you open the pages of the Freedom Girl paperback, your daughter will encounter a modern 8-year-old Ruth from 2011 who learns about her Scriptural namesake. While the contemporary Ruth battles her own sin nature as revealed in her fights with her brother and the roll of her eyes behind her parents' backs, she nonetheless has a yearning for God.
 | Dan and Jackie Liberto talk about what inspired them to create the 18-inch Ruth doll and accompanying book entitled "The Story of Ruth Through A Child's Eyes."
|
If I, Adam McManus, had a daughter between the age of 5 and 12, I couldn't buy the Ruth doll and book fast enough to help me communicate the eternal truths found in Scripture. Allow the Libertos to help you answer your daughter's questions about Godly character through Ruth. She will act out the story over and over again as she plays with Ruth. ACTION STEPS FOR ADAM'S ARMY:
2. "Like" The Freedom Girls ministry page on Facebook. You could win a FREE Ruth doll and book if you offer the best answer to this question: "What does the biblical story of Ruth offer to young girls today?" (Length: 1 sentence to 150 words posted on the Freedom Girls Facebook page. Anyone of any age can enter. Deadline: Wednesday, December 14th by 11:59 p.m.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO
* While speaking to a prominent group of Jewish Republicans, Newt Gingrich promised to support Israel, not give in to the Palestinians, and even promised his next wife would be Jewish. * I'm not sure Rick Perry got it. Like when they asked him what he'd do about the West Bank, he said he'd bring back free checking. * According to CNBC, a number of Americans are moving overseas looking for job opportunities. Now people over there will know what it feels like to lose their American jobs to foreigners. * According to a recent report by CBS sports, the average Major League baseball player now makes just over $3 million a year. Or as the Yankees like to call them, "the 99 percenters." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONAN* The White House held its annual Hanukkah celebration. It was a traditional Jewish ceremony, except for the part where it was hosted by a black man from Hawaii. * An executive from the E! Network has stated that there could be as many as four new Kardashian spinoff shows. He then added, "Unless our demands are met." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN* Rod Blagojevich, former governor of Illinois, stood under some mistletoe earlier today and kissed 14 years goodbye. * A couple got married in a Starbucks. Isn't that nice? What, Dunkin' Donuts not good enough? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!* Sources are reporting that Ryan Seacrest is being considered as a replacement for Matt Lauer. Earlier this month, he was informed there was a show on TV that he doesn't host and he became very angry. * How many jobs can a person do? Forget Wall Street. These protesters should be occupying Ryan Seacrest. * The chairman of the company that owns the E! network says they are planning multiple spinoffs of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." There are now more shows than there are Kardashians. Perry gave three reasons for declining the Iowa debate later this month. First, he needs to concentrate on campaigning. Second, there are already two other debates scheduled for that week. And he forgot the third one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON* Vice President Joe Biden just mailed his family Christmas card which is signed with his dog Champ's paw print. The weird thing is, Biden actually does that with all his important documents. * Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took all six of their kids shopping at FAO Schwarz. Yeah, it was nice. They said each kid could pick out three new toys. And then three new siblings. * Pope Benedict lit a Christmas tree in Italy using a Sony tablet. Yes, a Sony tablet. That's how you know Europe's in trouble, when even the Pope can't afford an iPad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
by Adam McManus
Over the course of my 20-year career as a radio talk show host, I've met and interviewed a lot of fascinating people. Many of them are household names which you would recognize instantly. Tom Snyder, the 46-year-old owner of the regional Colonial Life Insurance office here in Garden Ridge, has got to be one of the most intriguing people I've met in a long time. He's not famous. He's not a political leader. And he hasn't even written a book. But he's spearheading a unique Christian ministry in our own backyard whose vision is as big as the Texas sky. Tom Snyder, founder of Trinity Oaks, teaches a young boy on a Youth Hunt. If you would like to volunteer to be a guide, call 210.447.351. Now that he has become a successful businessman, Tom, a member of River City Community Church here in San Antonio, has a passion to give back to the community - especially to the children in demonstrable, life-changing ways. That's why he founded Trinity Oaks, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. At the heart of the ministry are the youth hunts for 10 to 16-year-olds. Throughout their time, the young people experience firearms safety instruction, target shooting and actual big game hunting. In the process, Tom wants to give the tweens and teens access to the great outdoors, to build their character, and to teach them the importance of responsibility in our narcissistic culture. 10 to 16-year-old boys, like the ones pictured above on a Trinity Oaks Youth Hunt develop self-confidence, an appreciation of God's creation and connect with the volunteer hunting guides. "Our goal with youth is three-fold. First, we want to teach kids that hunting is not just about 'killing animals', but also about building relationships and enjoying God's majestic outdoors. Second, we want to promote our country's hunting heritage to future generations," said Tom Snyder. "Third and most importantly, we want to show children of all ages that they have value and let them know there are people who care about them, people willing to listen to them and mentor them. We have found you can really reach a child and make a difference in his life just by sitting next to a campfire and listening to what he has to say." During the 2010/2011 hunting season alone, Tom personally acted as the lead field guide for every one of the 20 youth hunts attended by 85 young people, 53 of whom were first-time hunters. Typically, each hunt is comprised of 3-5 youngsters along with their fathers and some volunteer guides. Each youth is assigned to an adult. Their goal for the upcoming 2011/2012 hunting season is to have 30 youth hunts attended by 100 kids and 75 first-time children hunters. Amazingly, Trinity Oaks covers every single expense including the cost of transportation, the lease of the land, the hunting license fees as well as the food, lodging and the mounting of the child's wildgame trophy. All the meat is processed for free by volunteers, ground up and frozen into family packs. It's then distributed to needy families and homeless shelters throughout San Antonio as well as orphanages in Mexico. ACTION STEPS FOR ADAM'S ARMY: 1. If you would like to suggest a boy or girl between the ages of 10 and 16 to participate in a future Trinity Oaks youth hunt, please call 210.447.0351, and tell them you are a McManus subscriber, or email. 2. If you would like to volunteer to become a guide or firearms trainer for some of the youth hunts, please call 210.447.0351 and tell them you are a McManus subscriber or e-mail. 3. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to Trinity Oaks to ensure that the Youth Hunts and Wounded Warrior Hunts continue, donate on-line here. The cost of sending one underprivileged kid on a Christian Youth Hunt is $1,200. And now, thanks to the generosity of one sponsor, anything that you give up to $100,000 will be doubled. So, if you give $150 today, your donation will be doubled to $300 and fund one-quarter of the $1,200 cost for one kid to participate in this life-changing ministry. If you give $300 today, your donation will be doubled to $600 and fund one-half of the $1,200 cost for one kid to participate in this life-changing ministry. You can also make a tax-deductible donation by check made out to "Trinity Oaks." Send it to: Tom Snyder, Trinity Oaks, 9385 Miller Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78266. (Write "McManus newsletter" in the memo)4. Please take 30 seconds and send me, Adam McManus, an email to let me know that you made a donation toward funding the expense of a youth hunt for a disadvantaged young person through Trinity Oaks: TalkRadioAdam@gmail.com. I want to personally thank you.

Investigator Joe E. Baeza, Laredo police spokesman, said Timothy Grimmer died at 5:45 p.m. at University Hospital in San Antonio after his family decided to discontinue life support.

If you've followed Texas politics at all, you know that Joe Straus, the liberal, San Antonio-based Texas Speaker of the House from House District 121, is a disaster!
Joe Straus, the liberal Republican Texas Speaker, has now drawn a conservative challenger named Matt Beebe (pronounced BEE-bee) in House District 121 in the Tuesday, March 6, 2012 GOP Primary First, he and his family profit from gambling through businesses like Retama Park. No wonder he voted to expand gambling.
Look at Straus' voting record. He:
* Voted to make it easier to perform third-trimester abortions, supported homosexuals as foster parents, * Co-authored a bill that would have allowed Planned Parenthood to control public school sex education, * co-authored a bill to allow embryonic stem cell research, * has flunked most conservative groups' smell tests ranging from Eagle Forum and Heritage Alliance to Texas Right To Life and Young Conservatives of Texas. * has received a $1,000 campaign contribution from a Planned Parenthood PAC, has been praised by Planned Parenthood, and has failed to support cutting off millions of public dollars that Planned Parenthood receives every year from the Texas Legislature. Planned Parenthood runs 14 abortion facilities in Texas, the state's largest chain. (Plus, Straus' wife sat on the Planned Parenthood board)
There was a hard fought battle to dissuade liberal Republicans against supporting Joe Straus for Texas House Speaker in light of Straus' appointment of Democrats and liberal Republicans to head committees which blocked pro-life and fiscally conservative bills previously.
That's why this TV ad below ran statewide.
| Oust Joe Straus TV Ad #1 | But have no fear.
Matt Beebe (pronounced BEE-bee), a 38-year-old Christian Tea Party supporter and friend of mine, will announce his candidacy for Texas State House Representative in District 121 in the GOP primary at his kick-off press conference on Monday, December 12, 2011.
The event will be held at 12 noon at The Quarry Golf Club, 444 East Basse Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209. (Heavy appetizers will be served.)

And I, Adam McManus, am hoping that you can join us for just 30 minutes over lunch on Monday, December 12th. I would be honored if you demonstrated with your presence your support for Godly men like Matt who will take a stand for cutting the state budget and has respect for the sanctity of life.
If you're a homeschool mom, make sure to load up the kiddos. We need to fill the room and hold "Elect Matt Beebe" signs behind him as he addresses the press.
Quick thumbnail sketch on Matt Beebe:
* Small business owner who founded "Digitactics, Inc., a small business that was recently named by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the top ten "Largest San Antonio Computer Service & Repair Firms."
* A graduate of Michigan Technical University with a B.S. in Business Administration, Beebe served his country in the Air Force as a Communications Officer.
* married to his wife Nicole for 16 years with whom he's adopted their two children - Hannah, 5, and Joshua, 3.
* Homeschool father
* Tea Part supporter
* Member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where where he teaches Sunday School for the Foundations young couples class.
I believe in Matt Beebe so much that I, Adam McManus, have agreed to work as his Communications Director!
Can you tell I REALLY believe that Matt is the right man to represent House District 121? Not only am I putting my reputation on the line, but I want to use my skill set in helping him present his candidacy through TV, radio, mailers and the internet.
ACTION STEPS FOR ADAM'S ARMY:
1. If you can attend Matt's kick-off press conference on Monday, December 12, please email me Adam@VoteBeebe.com. Just let me know how many folks are coming with you. It will be held at 12 noon at The Quarry Golf Club, 444 East Basse Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209. (Heavy appetizers will be served.)
2. Sign up for Matt Beebe's campaign email list to keep apprised of all that is going on.
3. Join Matt's prayer warrior team.
4. 'Like' Matt Beebe on Facebook. Can you help me hit 1,000 "Likes"?
5. Make a donation to Matt Beebe's campaign online with credit card or check.
Without your financial support, he will not be able to pay for signs, mailers, and TV and radio ads which will be instrumental to a conservative political victory. Unlike the campaigns for Congressman, Senator or President where laws have been passed which cap the amount an individual can give per election cycle to a candidate to $2,500, Texas has no such restriction. So whether you feel led to give $50, $500 or $5,000, no contribution is too small or too large. Every dime will make a difference! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF MY NEWBORN DAUGHTER MERCY GENEVA
