The phrase that determines efficiency is "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio" or S.E.E.R.
Imagine the difference in how many miles per gallon you would get if you drove a heavy, 30-foot-long RV compared to driving a zippy Toyota Camry. Night and day. The RV will only go 7-8 miles per gallon compared to the Toyota Camry that will go 38 miles per gallon. Big difference! Wouldn't you rather fill up less regularly and save all of that gas money?
Well, the best way to understand the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio or S.E.E.R. of your system is to know that it's like miles per gallon.
