Latino Students Meet in Boise, ID to Plan Regional Leadership Conference
NHLSC Planning Committee/SALSA Meeting

USHLI's Central States and Northwest Field Coordinator, Ricardo Lopez, convened a group of students representing 12 colleges and universities in five states, and local community leaders, to plan the program for our Northwest Hispanic Student Leadership Conference.

Student leaders representing over 25 colleges and universities are expected to attend the regional conference, which will be held October 17-18, 2008, in Boise ID. The Northwest region includes Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Montana and Wyoming.

The meeting was hosted by Margie Gonzalez, Executive Director, Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs. Click here for pictures.

Jimmy Cabrera The theme of the conference will be: "De Educacion a Accion" and the keynote speaker will be Jimmy Cabrera, one of the top-rated speakers in the nation. Click on the following links to see a tentative agenda and our speaker's bio.

The student leadership conference will focus on getting-out-the-vote, social and cultural issues, promoting collegiate leadership development, and creating a strong network of Latino student organizations in the Northwest.
