USHLI Launches 21st Century Leaders Internship Program
Anita Alvarez with USHLI Interns
Anita Alvarez, the Democratic nominee for Cook County state's attorney, Chicago, IL, participated in the training, of our summer interns focusing on public policy issues. With three days of intensive training under their belts, the second team of USHLI interns began a 10-week program in which they will engage federal, state, county, and municipal policy-makers in discussing current issues, work through local community based organizations, churches, and other nonpartisan groups to register 15,000 new voters, and earn $2,500 each toward their college expenses.

There are 32 Latino college students currently participating in USHLI's 21st Century Leaders Internship program. Our interns have registered 43,675 new voters to date. Click here to view pictures.
