Greetings!
PAST....PRESENT....FUTURE
PAST...
It is hard to believe that in our twenty-ninth year we have already had five rehearsals, two parades, one stand-up concert and one field show!
You have performed well. The parades were fun and you looked and sounded pretty good. The stand-up concert after the night parade was one of the best we have ever done.
I thought the field show went extremely well with the music and the auxiliary was superb. Other than some problems with the "thrill dance" of 36 - counts, I couldn't ask for a better performance. The crowd loved you.
PRESENT....
Life is good. We now have a couple of weeks to rest up and ponder the first part of the season behind us, rehearse at Osceola, and look ahead to what's left.
FUTURE....
The best is yet to come....
And yet, this is a "test". The band will be tested. Sometimes, in the past when our performances were spread out over a few weeks, some members decided to hang up their marching shoes and not participate. We will be tested to see if we are still a team of Rounders who count on each other to make every performance a rousing success. It can't be done without YOU. Stay the course and finish with the team. We're counting on everyone to know what you are a part of, and belong to it.
April 19th we meet at Osceola High School at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium to practice our music and marching for Osceola High School Band's spring concert on May 12.
We really need each and every one of you to attend...as this is the pivitol rehearsal for the remainder of our season!
Bring all your music and lyres, as we will march down the aisles and form on stage.
April 30th is the Hernando DeSoto parade in Bradenton which starts at 6:30 p.m. We need to be there by 5:00 p.m.. The parade is ½ mile shorter than Pasco but with the same size crowd. This will be our first visit there, and we really want to make a major showing. It is also a great recruiting tool.
May 7th is Band Camp at Admiral Farragut (for our Calgary Team!!), 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The entire field show will be taught that morning. It is very different from the Tattoo show. Everyone needs to be there. We will be talking about Calgary in detail also.
May 12th is the Osceola High School Spring Concert.
Thanks for being a Rounder. It has been a great year so far. We appreciate every member - auxiliary, musician, the staff, the Board, every volunteer and sponsor....quite a team.
