Family Increases, Strengthens Bond Over 2010 | | |
Administrative Asst. Richard Mugisha
Richard feels that he is where God wants him to be there at the St. Jerome COVE Center. He particulary enjoys working with the youngsters and has a great rapport with them. He hopes that the poor and abandoned children will continue to get the necessities of life, "so they can attain their education and return to their area to support COVE and their families."
Head Teacher Joseph Lule
My life has become very meaningful and interesting. Here at the COVE center there is much more emphasis on family spirit than in the school I previously taught at. This family spirit h as encouraged all the staff members to feel that they are loved and important in the community. The poor and abandoned children that I teach are my friends. As the head teacher of this school, I have come to realize that the center is my home and these are my children. These children are good and very eager to learn. As a team, we progress each day in shaping them into good citizens.

| | Fr. Barron visits with the students |
"Upon our arrival at the St. Jerome Cove Center we were treated to a warm welcome by the children and staff. They entertained us with singing and dancing and a feast of Ugandan food. COVE was honored to welcome Father Bob Barron of the Word on Fire Ministry. Fr. Bob was one of Fr. Hilary's instructors at the Mundelein Seminary. He and his group spent three hours filming and interviewing the children and staff for a documentary. They were impressed with the progress that COVE has made." |

Tom O'Donnell
"As a younger guy, who moved to this area out of college, I was looking for a way to get involved with the community and contribute to a cause I believe in. COVE fit that description."
Steven Spreiser "Work in Africa is far from complete; there are so many areas where citizens need assistance. If I can apply what I learn during college to make a positive, meaningful difference in the world, then I believe I can truly live a successful life. Even if I am only one 'candle,' I can help light a fire."
Students of Bright, IN HS "We have a dream to do mission work in Africa. When the Holy Spirit is at work, anything is possible"
Ethan and Isabella Tramel Showed extraordinary compassion for the children in Uganda and collected toys to be taken to Uganda in June. |
