Shir Hamakom Email Archives Jewish. Music. Worship. Community. Arnie Davidson, worship leader Shir Hamakom is Hartford, CT's newest Jewish music worship group.  Formed in May 2009, we meet monthly in East Hartford for 70 minutes of Shabbat worship featuring guest musicians and lots of music.  The Jewish Shabbat service begins by reciting Psalms, one for each day of the week, building anticipation for the seventh day, and culminating with L'cha Dodi which celebrates Shabbat and welcomes the Shabbat bride. Each month, a week before our scheduled worship, I send out a daily email on a topic related to the day of Creation, building anticipation for our worship together.  Here, you can view an archive of many of these short articles which I hope will motivate you to make everyday moments holy and to find new ways to infuse your life outside of shul with Judaism.  Don't forget to join our list (below).
