Technical Support - we're here for you!
Technical Support is not an easy job. After all, when you need it, it is for a question or a problem you're experiencing and need our assistance - you need help now. So by the nature of this request we're always responding to a question or a possible problem. Fortunately, we have a tech support staff that is highly qualified in our applications and many of our integrated 3rd party applications.
You should also be aware that we have the lowest tech support fees in the industry. Many of you have private cell numbers of various members of our tech support team - because our people really care. We believe this is very unique in the industry. But please call our toll free 800-835-2400 number first.
We also understand, with our large U.S. customer base, that we can't please everyone but we'll certainly attempt to exceed your expectations. We're so pleased when we hear your feedback how wonderful a tech support person has been for you. We know we have very special people to help you and appreciate your feedback. They really do go "above and beyond." And, if you're not satisfied, please let management know.
Back to the actual nature of tech support. No software is perfect - yes there are inconsistencies sometimes called "bugs." Everyone has them, including us. We make every attempt to fix the inconsistencies whenever they can be duplicated. Did you know when Vista was released there were 30,000 bugs reported in the first month? Our products have been on the market for over 5 years and most of the features in the applications are "bullet-proof" but with new features, you can't believe how one feature may affect other features. It's a fact of software but we're dedicated to respond to any issue and attempt to keep getting better. We hope we meet your needs and special requests. Tech support can only work with the existing release of the software so please be patient if there are inconsistencies.
Our standard tech support hours are 9am to 5pm (Pacific Time), 7 days a week including holidays and weekends - we're always here for you. And, we're usually available outside of these hours or by appointment.
Thank you for being a loyal customer.

Supporting Windows 7
As many of you know, Microsoft has released the highly touted Windows 7 operating system hoping that corporate America will upgrade from XP Pro. Vista was unsuccessful of this goal but W7 may be the answer. However, there are many different versions of Windows 7 and we (as well as our partners) have to pick a standard that will work for everyone. SmartClub and SmartPOS (Cash Register Express and Restaurant Pro Express) were pretty simple to transition to the Windows 7 Pro 32 bit (not 64 bit) operating environment along with PCCharge (version 5.8.3 required for W7).
As of this writing, CRE has not yet been certified on Windows 7 as we're still waiting for partners software, such as printer drivers, touch screen monitor drivers, and all peripheral products to verify compatibility. With the support of so many types of devices, this is not an easy task but we're almost there.
A rule of thumb in new computers is to watch what corporate America will accept and most will wait for the 1st major Windows 7 Service Pack to be released before upgrading. That may be good advice for everyone, however, we'll inventory W7 computers (when CRE is ready) as well as the very stable XP Pro computers. XP Pro will be around for a very long time and we'll be ready for Windows 7 Pro too. | |
