Backup, Backup, Backup
You've all heard the stories. My computer hard drive crashed - what can I do? A power outage zapped my database and it is corrupt - what can I do? My computer is dead - what can I do? And unfortunately, we've heard this one - someone stole our computer. These are all disastrous situations if you don't have a Backup. It happens more than you would think. BE PREPARED!
We don't provide the backup service but we highly recommend you perform internal backup (on your existing computer) and external backup (physically back it up to a removable device or other than your product computer) on a regular and consistent basis.
All of our products have internal backup procedures in their electronic user guides. For external backups, just copy the products database or entire product folder to an external device. For example, if using SmartClub, copy the entire Club folder (usually in C drive and Program Files) to an external device. Copying the entire club folder provides backup for all your custom reports, emails and exports as well.
There are several tools for automatic backup including internet backup services. You may want to research what is best for your environment. You could simply "zip" your product folder and email it to yourself as one method of backup. We don't recommend the backup tools to use, we just highly recommend you backup on a consistent basis.
Lastly, remove your backed up database from the premises. Your data is extremely important, so Backup, Backup, Backup.

The holidays are going to be here before we know it, this is a great time to order or reorder your gift or loyalty cards. You can purchase these cards from WineWare Software; we will help design your custom card.
Our SmartPOS System is a closed loop system for gift cards - there are no additional fees, except for the cost of the card. Our loyalty cards are assigned to each of your customers for easy identification. There are many reasons to start your gift or loyalty card program; the following are a few reasons: Gift Cards

CRE: How to handle inventory that is no longer available? Set up a new department called Obsolete Items or NA Wine (Not Available); move your items to the appropriate deparment. Hide the new department so it does not appear on your TS LookUp.
PCCharge: Why are credit cards failing if the expiration date is beyond 2012? You need to extend the expiration date in PCCharge. In PCCharge go to SetUp, Configuration System, change the Last Valid Year to "20". |
