Great Interactions Communities for Teachers!
This month's special treat is a pointer to a few excellent community sites for teachers to share an collaborate.
First up is Chemistry Interactions - this is a terrific site to get together with other Chemistry teachers and share ideas. Demos, movies, teaching resource tips - you'll bound to find something special for your chem class!
Second up is Environmental Interactions - finally, a site for teachers specializing in Environmental Studies! This is a growing curriculum area and many jurisdictions are offering more and more environmental courses. Environmental interactions is great place to start your hunt for resources.
Last, but not least,BC Science Interactions - this is a thriving community of teachers from British Columbia who are always a great source of teaching ideas on a variety of topics. Enjoy the great resources!

This Month's Internet Gems!
There's always new, juicy things on the Internet that you can use in your classroom! ScienceMan would like to call your attention to the following gems - this week's theme is chemistry - hope you enjoy the links!
- The Periodic Table of Videos - Wow! A video for EVERY one of the elements on the periodic table - that's got to be impossible, right? WRONG! The University of Nottingham has done a wonderful job putting together fascinating stories and information about all the elements - every one of them!
- What's That Stuff? - hours and hours of entertaining reading awaits you at this site, with fantastic stories of the chemistry behind every substances we take for granted - everything from nail polish to marshmallows!
- CheMagic Jmol Virtual Molecular Model Kit - going crazy trying to build a model of glucose with balls and springs? CheMagic to the rescue! This amazing site has hundreds of molecular models in beautiful 3D format, AND you can rotate the models by clicking and dragging on them. Be patient when you first visit the site, as it may take a few moments for the Jmol to load in your browser.
- Balancing Chemical Equations - students having trouble balancing equations? Send them here for this great tutorial and practice.
