ScienceMan.com New Review!
This
month's special treat is a new review - it will be of special interest
to physics teachers, but general science and chemistry teachers may
be interested as well.
The program is Physics 101 SE - it's for both Mac and Windows, and it's very good! Click here for the review.

This Month's Internet Gems!
There's always new, juicy things on the Internet that you can use in your classroom! ScienceMan would like to call your attention to the following gems - this week's theme is the environment, biodiversity and sustainability - hope you enjoy the links!
- Xeno-Canto - this is not a visually pretty site, but the sounds sure are! Xeno-canto is home to thousands of bird calls. Need to hear a blue-footed booby? No problem! How about a Bolivian Tapaculo? Of course!
- Encyclopedia of Life - can you imagine a website so bold as to attempt to provide encyclopedic coverage for every species on Earth? Believe it or not, EOL is attempting it, and they are doing a wonderful job. If you want to get the most out of this amazing site, I suggest starting with the video tours.
- Walking with Ghosts - nearly every biology class covers the predator-prey relationship between lynx and snowshoe hare... but do you really know the whole story? Step into the shoes of a biologist who has spent 18 years studying these fascinating animals.
- Species at Risk in Canada - you'll be shocked to hear how many species have been wiped out in Canada in just the last 500 years. Should be required reading for all students! Use the pull down menu near the top of the page to access more excellent environment links.
