This Month's Internet Gems!
There's always new, juicy things on the Internet that you can use in your classroom! ScienceMan would like to call your attention to the following gems - in honour of our new physics guests this week, we'll focus on physics gems!:
- PhET Interactive Simulations - wow! The University of Colorado has done a fantastic job constructing and organizing a FREE bank of interactive simulations (BTW, they have all been correlated for PhysicsSource.ca!) The physics simulations are particularly impressive. For example:
Wave Interference - the ability to easily simulate interference patterns for water, light and sound is special, but you must use the "Add Detector" feature - it is a stroke of genius!
- Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics - whoa, that's a mouthful! The "Meet a Scientist" page features video interviews with great production values that hit a home run at bringing the practical advice of very accomplished physicists to students.
- Sixty Symbols - ever wonder what those weird science symbols mean? I can't imagine a more entertaining way to find out!
- High Speed Video Clips - two things neat about this. One - high speed cameras are now becoming affordable by the masses. Two - it's always a teacher finding neat and interesting ways to push the envelope!

ScienceMan's Jing!
If you tuned into the ScienceMan's first newsletter, you know what a huge fan I am of Jing.
Well, I like it so much, I've decided to feature a new Jing video every newsletter! This time, let's nod our hat to our physics friends and feature a tutorial on how simulate human vision problems with ray diagrams using Yenka:
Want to make you own educational tutorials? Download Jing and get started!
