Meet American Tackle Pro Staff Member Jonathan Stanley
Jonathan Stanley spent summers living with his Aunt in Rodanthe N.C. fishing from the pier and the surf. When he wasn't fishing, he was hanging around the local tackle shops and trying to learn as much as he could about fishing. Jonathan came across rod building and tried to learn as much as he could from the old timers. Admiring their master pieces but unable to afford them, he figured building his own was the only way to get his 10' Hatteras Heaver. He built his own that year and played around with making guide repairs and fixing handles. The recession hit and needing another way to make a few extra bucks, he was at a friend's house and offered to fix a couple of broken fishing rods. He paid Jonathan to repair the rods and commissioned him to build another complete rod, which without knowing what to charge, was built barely breaking even. Jonathan began talking rod building with everyone that he ran across to refine his business strategy and then the orders started rolling in. American Tackle is very excited about Jonathan joining the team and is looking forward to seeing Jonathan share his knowledge and expertise with us.
