Prayer Partner Newsletter
Volume 6 - January, 2009
Greetings!

I thank God for what he continues to teach me, even through something as simple as deciding what to do next.  What I wanted to do today was work on our evangelism newsletter, The Eleven Twelve Project, because it is 'due' to be published January 15th.  Instead I found myself putting the finishing touches on the Prayer Partner Newsletter, because God has been showing me that asking Him for help, and thanking Him for prayers already answered, is more important than anything else I could do anyway.

He's also showing me the importance of prayer through your efforts on our behalf.  Knowing that others are trusting Him in prayer for us, is being used by God to increase my trust too.  May you be encouraged that your support of this ministry in prayer is hugely important to me.

Sincerely in Christ,
Scott

Share the Savior:
Someone You Love Needs Him

Praise Report

In our last Prayer Partner newsletter, we told of hoping to meet with potential supporters in December.  God answered that prayer and did more than I could have hoped for.

We invited friends from our home church to "Experience Our Ministry and Expand Our Mission" on December 12th.  We presented three keys to help make sharing their testimony more effectively, and then gave the seven people attending, eight ways they could help expand the ministry of Share the Savior.   That created 56 support opportunities (7 people X 8 ways) and 16 of those opportunities were accepted.

More importantly was something God did in me.  I was initially very discouraged by the turnout.  Recognizing that I would not stay focused on the ministry part of the event on my own, I needed, and asked for His help.  At 8:00 pm, just as  I finished sharing ways they could be more effective giving their testimony, and as I was about to share how they could support us, two more people showed up.

Instead of being thankful, that we suddenly had more opportunities for support, I felt deeply disappointed that they had missed the ministry segment.  And then I realized, that God had given me 'blinders' toward the number of people attending, and had enabled me to focus on ministry.

Here are a few other events to thank the Father for:
  1. Four new people have agreed to pray for this ministry.  Thank God for Bryan, John, Scott, and Faith!
  2. The BASS Convention contacted us and asked us to present three workshops at their 2009 event.
  3. Four more subscribers to the Eleven Twelve Project, were added in December, 2008.
  4. We are meeting with our candidate for Administrative Manager January 13th.

Prayer Requests

1.  We're excited that we'll be sharing the volunteer position of Administrative Manager with a good friend, and loyal member of the body of Christ.  We need God to help us be sensitive, accepting, and wise in our discussion.

Father, give us a Spirit-filled power to sensitively discuss this opportunity, and accept your will in wisdom and humility.

2.  With the publication date for the next issue of the Eleven Twelve Project just around the corner, we are in great need of time and wisdom to write what will be used by God to further His work.

Father, may the newsletter go out on time to our subscribers, with the words and wisdom you want them to hear.

3.  One of our supporters is trying to make arrangements for us to share our ministry with a large, Christian organization in the San Francisco Bay area.  We are excited about this person's willingness to step out of their comfort zone on our behalf, and their desire to see the ministry advanced.

Father, please give wisdom and diligence to our supporter as they seek to promote Share the Savior.  May they be blessed by their efforts, and may you receive the praise!

A Thank You Gift

We have decided to offer each of our supporters a free ministry related gift, as our way of thanking them for their support.  Since our prayer partners, are by far the most valued supporters we have, it seemed like a good idea to offer the gift to you first.

Our goal is to further the spread of the gospel, and if that's a desire of yours too, this gift might be just what you need.  Check it out on our website, and get in touch if the gift is something you'd be interested in.

With nearly every Prayer Partner Newsletter, I've tried to communicate the importance of your support through prayer, to me and this ministry.  It's not easy to find the words to tell you what you mean to us, but it's always worth my effort to try.

God encourages me, when I think about your support and put my thanks into words, and my hope is that He might encourage you as you hear of our great appreciation for your support.  Thank you, for the great gift of your prayers.

Yours in Christ,
