Prayer Partner Newsletter
September 2008
Greetings!

Something wonderful happens to me when someone I've never met agrees to pray for our ministry.  It's like a recipe; a mixture of different ingredients that can be blended and baked to make something delicious.  There's gratitude, a dash of joy, a tear in the eye (actually several), some worship, a large pinch of amazement, and a liberal sprinkling of rejoicing.

Thank you, thank you, and one more...thank you!

Sincerely in Christ,
Scott

Share the Savior:
Someone You Love Needs Him

Praise Report

Share the Savior is not a well known, national ministry, and that's ok.  At least that's what I think I'm supposed to believe...sometimes it's difficult to accept that we're not having more of an impact.  Occasionally, I need to be encouraged (that's a cleverly planted prayer request), and perhaps God knew that, when I was prompted recently to crunch some numbers about us.

What I found, encouraged me (but you can still pray for ongoing encouragement), and is worth thanking the Father for:
  1. The Eleven Twelve Project launched with 55 subscribers in July of last year.
  2. Our subscription list has grown to 94 for the next issue.
  3. We have had over 650 opportunities to encourage and equip Christians through the newsletter.
  4. There have been at least 11,700 visits to our ministry's website since February 2004.
  5. Over 37,000 visits have been recorded by our evangelism outreach site since January 2003.

These figures reminded me of what I can so easily forget.  God can use 'small' things to accomplish His great work.  It is so very possible that some of the Christians who made up the 11,700 visits to our ministry's website, have been more effective sharing the gospel, because of something God gave them from our site.  Perhaps, they have even interacted with some of the people who made up the 37,000 visits to our online outreach.  Thank you Father, not for what I see, but for what You can do!

Prayer Requests

We have begun the process of raising missionary support.  These funds will allow me to devote more time to the work of Share the Savior.  We hope to have our first meeting with potential supporters in December.

Father, give the people you want to support this ministry, a joyful generosity, and adequate resources.

Wisdom Wanted

In our previous newsletters, I've shared three of the ten goals, I wrote out several years ago.  Our prayer is that God would give us the wisdom to know which of these goals, if any, we should strive to implement through Share the Savior.  Our plan is to share all ten before making a decision.  Here's the fourth idea.

Establish a California Regional Training Center for Evangelism

We would provide evangelism training in the Western United States and Western Canada, at the leadership level, to equip churches to establish or improve their evangelistic outreach.  The training center would utilize multiple methods of training, including on-site conferences, on-line training, teaching videos, written publications, and more.

thankyouSpecial Thank You!

My special thanks this issue, for requesting our Prayer Newsletter, goes to Phillip, Todd, and Jim.  Thank you for your interest in praying for Share the Savior.  Your prayer partnership with us is greatly appreciated.

I have no guarantee that Share the Savior will exist next year, or even next month, and there is no promise in Scripture that tells me how many people God will impact through our ministry.  What I do know, is that believers may always approach the throne room of grace, without fear, and be guaranteed of receiving help in their time of need.

We will always be in need, and therefore always deeply appreciative of your prayers before our King!

Yours in Christ,
