The Janus Head

As we look back on 2010 we are amazed at the sheer volume of great food that has come and gone through our dock doors.  Many of these items were produced right here in New York State and still more came from places around the world.  We've lost count of how many new products that we picked up this year and are delighted to see that many of you like them as much as we do!  In addition to our growing catalog and growth in sales, our staff has also grown; adding 5 new full time employees and 1 part timer.  In these lean economic times we count that as a huge blessing!  Lastly, the number of new customers we've taken on this year proves that our local economy is not dead!

Looking ahead into the new year, we are excited at the possibilities.  With the launch of our new line, The Regional Pantry (full story below), we are introducing the local cold pressed oils from Full Circle Farming to the retail world.  We are in the testing phases of a new local grass fed beef program and expect that to develop further in 2011.  We are also in the midst of a planning process that will help us to become more efficient, dependable and informative.  And of course, we never know what new vendors will call us up or walk through our doors with the next amazing product.  We can't wait to find out!

From all of us at Regional Access we thank you for your loyal business in 2010 and hope we can continue to serve you and help you grow in 2011.  Happy New Year (well, almost)!

Regional Pantry Logo The Regional Pantry

We, at Regional Access, are very excited to announce the formation of our new brand for local sustainable products.  The name, "The Regional Pantry", is appropriate in many ways.  It ties our name to what promises to be a line of retail products which will be intimately associated with our goals of creating an efficient, sustainable, regional production system of high quality, minimally processed, nutritious foods.  And, although the products in this line will be diverse and sourced from different farms and producers, they will always be of the same high quality and integrity, and there will always be links to the farms of origin.  Our goal is to create a food system that works for everyone.

In keeping with that goal, the first line of products to come out under The Regional Pantry label is the line of local sunflower and canola oils pressed by Full Circle Farming (see the link under New Products to the left).  We have been selling this oil in bulk sizes for a couple of months and now we're ready to introduce it to the retail world.  We hope you and your customers love it as much as we do!  Stay tuned for more great products from The Regional Pantry in the months to come.

Good to Go! Trumansburg Market
Mother-daughter team, Patricia Heckert and Nana Monaco recently joined forces to open Good to Go!, Trumansburg's first natural foods grocery and deli.  Trumansburg is the original home of Regional Access and Patricia and Nana are long-time friends of several of our staff members.  We thought we'd take this opportunity to congratulate them on a successful first month in business and to let the rest of the world know why we think Good to Go! is good to go!

Conveniently located in the heart of the village of Trumansburg, Good to Go! is what this village has been waiting for; a friendly place to get quality foods to be prepared or ready to go.  Their offerings range from a plentiful bulk section, to  delicious local cheeses (Lively Run, Finger Lakes Farmstead, Nettle Meadow and more), healthful snacks,  local grass-fed meats, freshly baked breads, cookies and brownies, and, of course, their unique deli items.  Some of our favorites so far are the Happy Bars (delicious coconutty concoctions), the tofu parmesan, and Patricia's own onion marmalade.   She suggested we put in on a morning bagel but we also love it on a cracker w/ some Lively Run chevre.  Yum!

But Good to Go!  doesn't just have good food.  They also embody many of the same principles that we value here at Regional.  Good to Go! is committed to the locavore movement.  As you walk through the store, you'll see that many of their products are locally or regionally produced.  They want to provide customers with a variety of healthy, local options. They are also sensitive to those w/ special dietary needs.  Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, sensitive to gluten, dairy, salt or sugar, Good to Go! has options for you.

Good to Go! is a welcoming family-friendly place.  Being mothers themselves, Nana and Patricia understand the challenges of shopping with children.  So, they've set up a small kids corner and have kid-friendly snacks.  If you go in early in the morning or late in the afternoon, you'll often see Nana's son Nico hanging around, too.

Go in and check out Good to Go!  at:
21 E. Main St Trumansburg, NY
