RAC/ACC 2010 Conferences

SOT Graphic The Research Agenda Conference (RAC) focuses on research training for chiropractic college faculty, students, practitioners, and professional staff and primarily consists of hands on training workshops. The ACC Educational Conference promotes institutional and academic excellence and learning and focuses on two areas, the bringing together of staff, administration, and faculty in a collaborative fashion to discuss various topics at group meetings and the presentation of peer-reviewed papers in poster or platform presentations.

The International Brain Injury Association was established to encourage international exchange of information, to support research, to provide training especially in developing countries and to advocate for brain injury. One of the approaches taken by IBIA was the creation of the World Congress on Brain Injury.

DeJarnette The 30th Annual Conference, 21-23 May 2010, took place in St. Louis, in conjunction with the anniversary of Logan College of Chiropractic. At this conference SOTO-USA had the following paper accepted:

The development of sacro occipital technique (SOT) occipital fiber technique: A historical case report.

This was an interesting paper, which used Dr. DeJarnette as a co-author since it incorporates a case history he used in one of his articles.

Cruise Research and sharing knows no bounds as SOTO-USA hosted a clinical seminar and doctor sharing with a focus on research.

  • Elaine Stout, DC: "The Foot and its Arch," This presentation involved exploring various dynamic aspects of foot dysfunctions, their evaluation and adjusting.

  • Steven Tupper, DC: "Chronic Fatigue and SOT" A case presentation with a discussion on a patient chronic fatigue syndrome and methods successfully used to treat this condition.

  • Bruce Vaughan, DC: "The Art of Muscle Testing and SOT" Dr. Vaughan is in the process of finishing a new book on SOT and shared some novel muscle testing procedures that can work as adjuncts to SOT analysis.

  • Karen Clister, DDS: "Body Posture from a Dental Perspective" Evaluating posture problems in relation to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction from the dentist's view point.

  • Linda Power, DC: "Adjusting the Tooth" While the TMJ can be subluxated, possibly so can individual teeth. By using specific protocols of analysis and treatment, if indicated, a patient's tooth could be adjusted to help with clinical outcomes.

  • Tara Tweg, DC: "Innovative Clinical Correlations" New relationships between specific points on the cranium for analysis and treatment of T3 CMRT sinus conditions as well as discussing a possible relationship between bladder function and post traumatic category two.
