NAREA SUMMER CONFERENCE REGISTRANTS:
SIGN UP FOR ATELIER SESSION ON MOVEMENT WITH DANCERS FEDERICA PARRETTI AND PETER BYWORTH!!

We would like to inform you of a unique opportunity for participants of this year's NAREA Summer Conference. In addition to the three educators from Reggio Emilia (Vea Vecchi, Amelia Gambetti Tiziana Filippini), we will be welcoming two other special guests, dancers Federica Parretti and Peter Byworth.  (Click here to download biographical information.)  Federica and Peter will be facilitating one two-part atelier session on movement.

Part one of this atelier session is scheduled on Friday, June 22 from 2:30-5:00 pm. and part two of this session is scheduled on Saturday, June 23 from 1:30-5:00 pm.  This session competes with dedicated time on Friday to encounter either the exhibit, "The Wonder of Learning - The Hundred Languages of Children," or small group discussions, and on Saturday with other materials and languages ateliers on movement. The exhibit will also be open on Thursday evening, June 21, which implies that participants choosing this two part atelier will have another opportunity to encounter the exhibit on their own time.  This session is limited to 70 participants who desire an in-depth encounter on this topic with Federica and Peter.

We are offering conference registrants who are interested in participating in this unique professional development experience to sign-up online. Sign-up is on a first come-first serve basis so if this opportunity intrigues you, sign up right away! Your name must be on the list to be admitted into this session.  The list to date will be posted at the bottom of the sign-up page.

Attention NAREA Members, Membership Coordinators
and Representatives of Reggio-Inspired
Networks in North America!

With the input of many of our members, the NAREA board is currently re-thinking the role of state and provincial membership coordinators. Our intention is to move away from the focus of "coordinating membership" toward reaching a better understanding of how to further support the work already taking place within Reggio-inspired networks and groups in the United States and Canada. To this end, the NAREA board and staff have begun gathering suggestions from current membership coordinators via written surveys and phone conversations. We would like to further connect with NAREA members about this important topic, in order to further inform and guide the vision and direction of NAREA.

We will be hosting meetings at the Eighth NAREA Summer Conference in Portland, Oregon in June; at the NAEYC Annual Conference in Atlanta in November; and at the Fourth NAREA Winter Conference in Tucson in January 2013. We invite NAREA members, current membership coordinators, representatives of Reggio-inspired networks in North America and anyone else interested in discussing these issues to attend. For those of you who are registered for the 2012 NAREA Summer Conference, the meeting will be on Saturday, June 23 during the lunch hour, 12:30-1:30 pm. The location of the meeting will be announced on Saturday morning.
