ASIAFEST 20ELEVEN
On July 8-9, 2011, ASCM presented the 3rd annual ASIAFEST Youth Conference, in partnership with and held at our largest COG church in the Philippines, Dasmarinas Church of God in Cavite, under Pastor Anthony Velasco!
Featured music artists were PLANETSHAKERS from Australia and returning for the second time, Phil Stacey, American Idol finalist. Along with the dynamic music at each session, we had powerfully anointed keynote speakers in Rev. Tom Madden, COG International Youth & Discipleship Director, and Rev. Neil Smith, Executive Pastor of Kingdom Life Church in Melbourne, Australia.
The first day on Friday started in the morning with the Youth Leader Training sessions, conducted by Rev. Craig Mosgrove, Student Pastor at North Cleveland COG. This specialized training was for the participating youth pastors and leaders to receive cutting edge training to better equip themselves in their ministry. The Friday evening session started with the ASCM band leading praise and worship, followed by a concert with the amazing and gifted Phil Stacey. The anointed message of Tom Madden with the moving of the Holy Spirit led to an phenomenal response to the altar call where the youth experienced God in a real way!
The second day on Saturday started with a plenary session where the COG Dasmarinas praise and worship team and choir brought down the house. Craig Mosgrove delivered a timely message which resulted in a packed altar. The afternoon was for the very popular Teen Talent Asia, which has been held at each ASIAFEST and hosted by DJ Jordan Escusa of NU107 Radio. Talented young people from all across the Philippines traveled in to compete and were voted upon by the audience.
The Saturday evening session culminated the event with another powerful praise and worship session with the COG Dasmarinas team, followed by a performance from local artist Quest. With much anticipation, PLANETSHAKERS then gave an awesome performance, up close and personal! Preaching the message was PLANTESHAKERS' very own pastor, Neil Smith, who ushered in another great move of the Holy Spirit where the youth responded and filled the altar. Ending the night was an encore performance by PLANETSHAKERS with their lastest hit, "Nothing is Impossible!" Finally, the awards were given out for the Teen Talent Asia winners followed by an autograph signing session with PLANETSHAKERS.
ASIAFEST is not just another youth conference. ASIAFEST is an opportunity for young people to experience God in a fresh and new way, apart from their normal spiritual routine. It is not just a concert to sit and listen, rather it is an integration of powerful preachers and artists that give young people the chance to enter into the presence of God among people their own age. When today's young generation gathers together in expectation to experience God at ASIAFEST, God speaks to them! God calls them to salvation, God calls them to service, and God calls them to ministry. Lives are forever changed at ASIAFEST and Asia will never be the same. To God be the Glory!

Ministry partners like Philippine Christian Bookstore, Philippine Bible Society, Asian Center for Missions, and World Vision set up information booths inside the chapel. Philippine Blood Center in its second year of participation came and facilitated a blood donation activity on September 13.
Faculty and staff reviewed Philippine History, especially Jose Rizal's contribution in a tour of Yuchengco Museum on September 14. On the same day, ASCM students ran frantically around the ASCM building and nearby areas as participants in the first ASCM Amazing Race. FRESHMAN BOWLING NIGHT
Always a favorite among ASCM's newest students, President Rains and family (Carol, Ryan, and Stephanie) hosted the annual Freshman Bowling & Pizza Extravaganza!
This years event was held on July 14, where after packing the ASCM van and with the help of ASCM Dean of Students Victor Cuarto, the rest commuted via public transportation to meet up at the SM Mall of Asia, the largest mall in Southeast Asia, located against Manila Bay.
For many, this was their first time ever bowling, but for all, it was a blast! Afterward, everyone ate at a local favorite, Yellow Cab Pizza, to complete the bonding experience. See the PICS! |

From the President
Carol and I want to thank God for the students, staff, and faculty of ASCM.
The God given talents and dedication that they offer to this seminary are unsurpassed. They tirelessly volunteer their time and energy to so many ASCM functions, including the biggest one of the year, ASIAFEST.
ASIAFEST is a two day youth conference that ASCM coordinates under my oversight. It may not seem like a big deal, but let me tell you, it is.
The event is completely run by our students, which includes the posters, videos, promotion, logistics, planning, program, ticketing, Teen Talent, stage management, guest care, transportation, finance, T-shirt creation & sales, FB, Youth Leader Training, radio commercials & interviews, TV commercials, security, parking, intercessory prayer, music, media, sound, lights, and so much more!!!
While doing this, they are getting first hand experience at being in charge of putting on a major city-wide event. It is a lot of hard work. They do it because they believe that ASIAFEST truly makes a difference in the lives of the next generation and they want to be part of that!
Praise God for that! Praise God for them!
Please keep all of the students of ASCM in your prayers as they prepare themselves at ASCM to make an ETERNAL difference in Asia and beyond.
May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly for your ongoing support of this vital regional school!
