Greetings!
Dear Parents: Last November, the school undertook the collection of school supplies for students in Haiti. In a ravaged and economically deprived country, parents are still choosing to send their children to Christian schools. They see the benefits and life changing results afforded to them through the Christian schools. Over 200 bags of supplies, sent by PCS, were hand delivered to needy students all over the country.
The following pictures say more about the joy and thankfulness for your gifts than any words I could muster together. Enjoy and thank you for responding to the call.
Yours in His Service, |

"Whole-in-One" Golf Tournament
Thursday, May 10, 2012 @ Royal Ash burn It is time once again to pull out those golf clubs and join us in supporting PCS at our 11th Annual "Whole-in-One" Golf Tournament. This year promises to be a great day of fun, connecting with friends and enjoying some fantastic golf. Details for the day, including registering online, can be found by visiting our website www.pickeringcs.on.ca/golf
The registration fee this year is $150/golfer and includes golf, cart, thank you gift, and 3 meals (continental breakfast, lunch and dinner). It will once again be a shotgun tournament, with a 10:00 a.m. start, and we hope to be all done and on our way home by 5:30 p.m. As always, we will have a great raffle table and live auction. New this year to our golf tournament will be the introduction of an Online Auction. This will allow those who are unable to join us, or who do not golf, to help support the work of PCS as well. More details about the Online Auction will come to you in the upcoming weeks.
We hope you will be able to join us for what has become a great event in support of the mission of PCS.

Campbell's Soup Labels Thank you to everyone who sent in Campbell's Labels. This year, we were able to receive over $300 worth of new gym equipment free of charge. Please continue to send in your soup labels. A very special thank you to Mrs. Mills who has been overseeing this program for over 10 years and who is now retiring. Her youngest son is graduating from PCS this year. We are looking for someone to take over for Mrs. Mills. If you are interested, please call the office.

A Couple of Things
Pizza Day Date Change For the month of April, Pizza Day will be on April 13th instead of April 20th (which now will be a Hot Dog Day). This change was made due to MissionFest being on April 13th and pizza is easier to serve for a late lunch rather than hot dogs. Kindergarten Yard We are looking for some gently used doll strollers to use in the Kindergarten yard. Basketball Pictures If you have any pictures for any of the junior or senior basketball tournaments, could you please email them to dpoggensee@pickeringcs.on.ca.

Fox Security
A huge thank you to Fox Security for donating the plasma TV in the office and new camera at the front of the school. Fox Security is owned by one of our alumni families. Jon Stelmaszyk, one of our former students and an employee of Fox Security, installed the TV and camera. Thank you for blessing us so much.

CAT Testing
During the period of April 16-25, the school will undergo several series of standardized testing. C.A.T. (Canadian Achievement Tests) will be completed for Grades 1 to 8. This test gives us a benchmark for a variety of areas so that we can track class and individual progression. These tests are a vital indicator for your child and the school. We ask that you make a special effort that week to have your child properly rested and nourished with extra healthy snacks during the day.

Community Family Day
We hope you will be able to join us for our annual PCS Community Family Day on Saturday, May 26th. On top of the great Garage Sale and the different inflatable rides, we will once again be hosting our Chili Contest, Dunk Tank and Pony Rides. This is a great way for us to introduce friends, family and neighbours to PCS in a non-threatening way. Over the last 4 years that we have run the Community Family Day, we have averaged close to 1500 visitors each year.
The event also provides an opportunity for our own families to connect and allows alumni families and students to re-connect. There are also opportunities for some of our alumni students, who are in high school, to acquire some of their needed volunteer hours. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Quinn.

Impact for Life Fundraising Cruise
June 4, 2012 @ 6:30 p.m.
This year's Impact for Life event will be quite memorable as we will be cruising the Toronto Harbour on the stunning Yankee Lady III Charter Yacht. Tickets for the event can be purchased online for $25/person, by visiting www.pickeringcs.on.ca/impactforlife. Each attendee will enjoy dinner, relaxing music, and an uplifting program all with the evening Toronto Skyline as a beautiful backdrop. Space is limited, so be sure to register soon. Our goal is to raise $50,000 through adding new members to our donor society, as well as one-time donations. We hope you will consider joining us for what promises to be a great evening in support of PCS.
