Greetings!

Dear Parents:

It is that time of year again - the time to forecast the return of our students for the fall term.  This letter was sent home today  along with the Re-commitment Form that indicates your decision to return to PCS.  Also coming home is the new Fee Schedule.

I am extremely aware that the cost of education at PCS is a financial sacrifice for many parents. We are doing everything we can to keep our fees at the lowest possible rate, while maintaining an academically challenging program.

Please complete the attached form and return with your cheque by Monday, March 5, 2012.  Please note that after March break, all applications will be treated on a first-come basis. We are receiving many requests from the community, and we would like to know what space is available in the fall for new families.

Please note that we reserve the right to refuse your re-commitment if there are tuition arrears or behavioural/academic issues.

Yours in His Service,

February Fun Fridays

Last Friday we saw an array colours and outfits with many countries represented for Heritage Day. Today,  students and teachers alike dressed in their p.j.'s, housecoats, slippers, and whatever else they roam around in when they just want to kick back.  Many stuffed animals joined in the fun too!  Next on the calendar:  February 17th - P.A. Day - no school;  February 24th  - Future Job Day; March 2nd - Carnival Day - 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. (10:30 - 11:30 a.m. JK and SK).  The Grade 8's have planned a great carnival day filled with all kinds of fun!  Cost is as follows: $6.00 for the all-day pass, $1.00 for cotton candy,  and bake sale items for $1.00 or less.  Don't forget the coin drive!

Coin Drive

During the month of February, each class will be collecting pennies, nickels, dimes, loonies, etc.  The two classes with the highest amount win an ice cream sundae party, served to them by the Grade 8's!  All proceeds go to the Grade 8 Grad Trip.

Skiing
The skiing and snowboarding lessons for Friday, February 17, begin at 5:30 p.m. at Lakeridge Ski Resort.  This will be our last night of Friday Night Skiing.  Lift tickets are valid from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  For more information, please email Laurelee Stocks at stocks_laurelee@durham.edu.on.ca
Lost Pontiac Car Keys
There was a set of Pontiac car keys found in the parking lot 2 weeks ago.  If you misplaced a set, please come and pick them up in the office.

Sainte Marie
Sainte Marie Among the Hurons

This past Tuesday and Wednesday, the Grade 7 class spent 24 hours at Sainte Marie Among the Hurons stepping back in time to the 17th century.  It was an awesome time away!  The students experienced making candles and arrowheads, quill writing and fire starting.  Dining by candlelight in the cookhouse, the lantern walk, the "snowball fight" and snowshoeing were just some of the highlights.  Many thanks to Mrs. Lin, Mr. Romita,  Mrs. Stefan, Mrs. TanYan and Mrs. Ward for taking time off work to lose a night's sleep to help supervise.

Open House
On Sunday, March 4th there will be an Open House from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. for any new prospective families.   If you know of any friends or relatives that are interested in the school,  please let them know about the open house.  Registrations are filling up fast!
