Greetings!

TOPLast Friday Governor Crist announced the Florida Energy Star HVAC Rebate Program - nicknamed by many as the AC Cash For Clunkers.  We have already received numerous calls regarding this program.  Therefore this entire issue focuses on this program; while it may be lengthy it explains how the program works and answers many questions.  All these rebates can get confusing - we have made it simple for you.

If you have thought about upgrading your AC Unit there has never been a better time.

There is $15 Million dollars available to about 10,000 Floridians.  When the money is gone its gone!

I cannot stress to you that time is of the essence!

Sincerely,

What is Cash For AC Clunkers?
Cash for A/C Clunkers is a name used by some to describe Florida's ENERGY STAR Residential HVAC Rebate Program.   This program provides up to $1,500 for Florida Homeowners who buy a new Air Conditioning system that meets ENERGY STAR ratings.

In order to receive this rebate homeowners must have their duct system certified by an approved Energy Rater like Bay Area Air Conditioning to ensure their air ducts leak less than 15%.  The program enables homeowners to seal their ducts to this standard and receive a $1500 rebate from the State of Florida.

The convenient aspect to this program is that air conditioning units that qualify for the Federal Tax Credit of $1500 also qualify for this program.   You can receive the benefits of both the State $1500 rebate and the Federal $1500 Tax Credit.   This means when you buy a new qualifying air conditioner you can receive $3000 in government subsidies.   We make sure your unit qualifies for both programs.
Why This Program is Important For You
You may never have a better time to buy a new air conditioning system.  These programs end before the end of the year.  While Carrier Corporation offers rebates on new systems, never has the State of Florida and the Federal government both provided $1500 offsets to the purchase of new air conditioners.  For some folks the rebates may total more than they end up paying for a new high efficiency air conditioner.  If you think you may need a new system in the next few years there has NEVER been a better time to do it than now!
Why Is It Important To Get My Ducts Sealed?
Studies done by Utility companies show that 75% of Florida's homes have 30-50% duct leakage!  Most people are unaware that they are wasting precious energy dollars through leaking air ducts.  Duct leaks create infiltration issues that bring hot and humid outside air into the home.

You may not need duct sealing but in order to receive the $1500 State of Florida rebate you must have an air distribution report signed by an Energy Rater and by a local building official.  We take care of this for you.

Wasting cool air not only increases your power bill; it reduces the efficiency of your air conditioner. What's worse, leaking ducts bring allergens and harmful VOC's into your living space.  Duct leaks increase the humidity in your home, making the air conditioner work harder thereby raising your power bill.  There has never been a better time to improve your entire duct system and enjoy the comfort of a new high efficiency air conditioner for so little.
Why Act Now?
The State of Florida has only $15 million for this program ... enough for 10,000 homeowners.  Demand is already high for these rebates.  The program ends December 31st 2010, or when the money runs out.

The $1500 Federal Tax Credit ends December 31st, 2010.  The Carrier Rebate program ends November 15th, 2010.

The only way to insure you get the State rebate is to do it soon.  This money may run out very, very quickly.  We will be monitoring it closely for you.  In order to maximize the benefits of this perfect storm of Air Conditioning offers you must act now!!!
Why Bay Area?
In order to get the $1500 Florida Energy Star Rebate you must have a Class 1 Energy Rater certify that your Air Ducts leak less than 15%.   We employ 2 Class 1 Energy Raters that can certify your duct test.  We are the only residential air conditioning contractor in your service area that employs a Class 1 Energy Rater.  Therefore, our cost of certification is lower.

Many homes will need a retest, we do not charge for any re-testing. If a company does not seal the ducts before testing and does not get them to leak less than 15% air loss, you will have to pay them twice for the test.  Duct certification tests can run around $500 per test.  We only charge a one-time fee of $275, any retest is free.

Bay Area has been sealing ducts for years. We are the only AEROSEAL Certified Duct Sealer in your area. We can easily seal your ducts below 15% leakage, often as low as 5%.  This means you will save more energy dollars every month for as long as you own your home.

You may not need your ducts sealed, or you might need simple corrections.  We can take care of any duct sealing needs and make sure there is no cost, or time delay, that results when you involve a 3rd party.

Bay Area is a prize-winning company.  We install more high efficiency residential Carrier air conditioners than any other Carrier dealer in the entire South West.  We are a factory-authorized dealer with over 35 years of experience, installing thousands of air conditioners, with tens of thousands of satisfied customers.  Go to our website and listen to a sampling of what our customers say about us.
