| Fertilizer Can Damage Your Outdoor Unit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When fertilizing near the outdoor section of your system, be sure none gets in the unit, grilles, or coils. Most fertilizers will cause corrosion of the metals, even to the point of causing the coil to leak refrigerant.
Another corrosive to be aware of is pet urine. We have seen this cause damage to the coils many times.
Either would result in an expensive repair.
