MAPS-AMEN: Community Forum
Time: 8:00pm (after maghrib prayer)
Location: Main Prayer Hall

It's now been over 3 months since MAPS launched AMEN.. and so much has happened since then! Come join AMEN's Executive Director, Aneelah Afzali, to hear all about AMEN's work the past few months, the new initiatives planned, and ways YOU can get involved.  You'll have the chance to have your questions answered, provide feedback on AMEN's work so far, help guide the future direction of AMEN, and sign up to volunteer or otherwise get involved in the many upcoming activities and exciting opportunities!

This forum will hopefully provide an engaging community discussion, and your advice, feedback, questions, and involvement are needed to make it -- and AMEN -- a success! Hope to see you there.  We will start right after Maghrib prayer.  ALL are welcome.

MAPS Volunteer Randa Mustafa Makes UW's 2017 Husky 100!
Each year, the Husky 100 recognizes 100 UW undergraduate and graduate students from Bothell, Seattleand Tacoma in all areas of study who are making the most of their time at the UW.  Randa Mustafa served as president of the Bothell Women in Science and Engineering (BWISE) student club, promoting women in technology fields at events such as the University's STEM Festival for middle school students. She was part of the UW Bothell student team that collaborated on a research project with Professor Pierre Mourad and lab manager Ivan Owen to control a prosthetic hand with sensors in an arm band. The past two years, Ms. Mustafa also interned with The Boeing Company on the 737NG program in Renton and the 777X program in Everett. She will start working for the company full time after graduating with her degree in mechanical engineering.
Of noteworthy mention is that several other of our young Muslim community members are among the 100 winners. They include Asha Isaac, Feruza Ghias, Ru'a Al-Abweh, and more.
