Assalamu Alaykum / Peace be upon you
We are very pleased to announce that by the grace of Allah Almighty, we have acquired two vans to facilitate several of our programs. The vans can accommodate 20 passengers each (15 seated). They are equipped with a lift for passengers in wheelchair. The seats can be folded or removed to make room for cargo transportation. The vans have MAPS logo and our name emblazoned on them. We are in the process of hiring and training temp staffs to drive the vehicles.
Jumuah Shuttle for Elderly
We will be starting a program this month where our driver will pick up our elderly who cannot drive on their own for Jumuah. The vans will pick them up one hour before Jumuah and drop them off after Jumuah at no charge. If you live within a 7-mile radius of MAPS and have elderly parents at home who would like to attend Jumuah but cannot make it on their own, please register them for this shuttle service here:
Note, this service is restricted to the elderly who cannot drive to Jumuah.
Other Uses
In addition to the Jumuah Shuttle, the vans will be used for:
- Collection and delivery of furniture/donations for MAPS-MCRC refugee program
- Transportation of the Elderly to MAPS-MCRC Golden Times programs
- Transportation of the Youth to MAPS-Youth activities
- Transportation of Volunteers to MAPS-NOW Trail Work parties
- Following funeral processions
- Parking shuttles on Eid prayers and other large events
- etc.
